Hello everyone. I am new to the site. I am having my surgery on 1/8/19. A bit nervous, but very hopeful.
Welcome Tracey! This is a fabulous place for good tips, encouragement and friendship. It has totally helped me meet goal, and learn to live with food and choices in a positive, healthy way!
I was 65 in Oct 2017 when I had the surgery, and it was amazing to have goal happen quickly and then stay there! What a change.
That’s exciting! Being nervous is normal. You’re gonna have a great new year!
Nervousness is natural but you are going to do excellent!
You will have the best 2019 EVER!
:pYou will do great! Having the sleeve done has been the best decision yet! Its amazing how much better I feel and how much energy I have! I am now 22 days post op. Don't be nervous, take your pain meds for the first few days, and stay on top of your nausea! My Dr gave me promethazine to go home with and it works wonders! Walk when you can, even if your tired from the promethazine, trust me it helps with the gas! Most of all, follow your diet plan, its gets boring after a while but, there is a reason for it. I am on pureed food now, and mashed potatoes have not gotten old yet. This website has been super helpful and I have bounced all my strange q's here and got a lot of great answers!
Thank you!
Welcome! Definitely use this forum as a sounding board for all the weird questions you may not want to ask your doctor at first.
Welcome Tracey! It is normal to be nervous. Just stay positive and read as much as you can now. I liked -----> https://www.obesitycoverage.com/gast...erence-manual/ for good info. It is actually how I found this site. Remember that week 1 is the hardest but it will get a little easier each day.
Welcome and get ready to have the best life journey ahead!
Of course you're nervous but everything will be just fine. Like Christie posted the first week is hard, but I actually have had previous surgeries that were a lot more difficult. I remember reading before I had surgery that afterwards during hospital stay to walk, walk, walk. When you get home, walk. It works!!
Have a wonderful 2019!
3 more days! Praying for you!
Welcome. Nervous is fine - excited is better!
I was excited before (and after) my surgery. I had never had any type of surgery previously so perhaps ignorance was bliss - but I had a text book time with and after the surgery itself.
It is the best thing that I have ever done for myself. I am 16 months out now and have surpassed all my goals and am loving my new life.
You have every right to be hopeful because this is really going to change your life for the better.
Good luck.
Good luck with your surgery!
How are you doing?
Hi everyone! I am 1 week post op and feeling pretty good. Surgery went well. I had a bit of a problem with vomiting the first couple days, but that is definitely better. Now I am working on getting my protein and 64 oz of fluid in. I do well on the fluid not so well on the protein. Having trouble with my multi vitamin cause it taste so nasty.. Any input on that would be great!
