Does meal replacement count with liquid total
Does the meal replacement count toward my daily 64 oz intake or is it separate ? Had surgery 6-8 . Was rough cause I am on pain management for 8 herniated disc and they had hard time getting my pain from surgery down . Had to stay extra days in hospital before could go home . I know keep doing my best but WOW must force myself to drink !!
Re: Does meal replacement count with liquid total
Hi, your meal replacement counts towards your liquids. Sorry to hear about your back. I know how painful it can be. One thing that helped me to drink fluids is to keep a bottle filled with fluids and sip frequently. I’m sure it’s painful for you to walk ect. Hang in there & Good luck With your Weightloss Journey.

Thanks . I know its still early but just not feeling hungury or thirsty but am drinking nector protein powder over crushed ice (about 50 oz aday, they want 64 oz ) I just worry about dehydration or malnutrition . The meal replacements don't set good on my stomach took 3 days to get one down . And that chewable vitamen makes me gag trying chew it even in 1/4 pieces . I keep looking in mirror and saying toughen up buttercup give it time .

It’s very normal in the beginning to have difficulty getting in all your fluids and not be able to take in much of the meal replacement/ protein drinks. At least the first 6 weeks I could only take in a shot glass amount at a time. Over time I eventually could take in the amount I needed. Your stomach at first is so very tight But over time it will relax Some and make it easier to take in more. Hang in there your doing great. I’m happy to answer any questions. My multivitamin & calcium is a gummy. I used Kirkland brand at Costco. Then switch to Bariatric fusion chewable a year later for multi. Maybe try a different brand & gummy type and see if that makes it easier to stomach. Good luck

Thank goodness it counted or I would have never made the liquid goal. But it gets easier. And I also use the Kirkland Chewies, but I think ours come from BJs.
SO important!
Re: Does meal replacement count with liquid total
I was using gummy multivitamins then they gave me Procare health bariatric multi with 45 mg iron to start after surgery ,half dollar size . They said if was having problems getting it down I coiuld hold off for few weeks . Which thought was odd . I go slow and steady on my intake cause don't won't to get to much on my stomach and then get sick or just hurt . The pain sometimes is confusing to , not sure if its from surgery , gas , or hunger , constipation maybe . Have not gone yet but am not eating much either .

Re: Does meal replacement count with liquid total
Just a note re the vitamins. I was told not to start until 3 weeks after surgery, and then I found out very quickly that I can't take them on an empty stomach.
I now have capsules which I like much better than the chewable ones I had in the beginning.
