Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone who suffers with PCOS has had gastric sleeve surgery?
Has this helped with any of your symptoms?
I was also thinking of going with Cosmetic Bliss in the Czech Rep - has anyone been there recently? or to find someone here in the UK? - does anyone have any recommendations?

If you mean infertility problems. Yes. Any form of WLS greatly helps with infertility. I have heard countless stories of infertile women conceiving after WLS. Lorna :)
Generally speaking, anything that helps weight loss helps with fertility problems. As far as other symptoms, I'm not sure.
Did you end up having the gastric sleeve? If so, has your PCOS improved? I have had it since 2000 and will be having the sleeve surgery in 2012.
My daughter has PCOS and since surgery she had a three month period, she had to go back on birth control pills to control it. She says her facial hair is perhaps a bit softer so that is an improvement but she also started laser treatment last month so that might be why. Her energy level has increase and she has been able to decrease her metformin from 2000 to 1000. She tried to stop taking it but her weight stalled so she went back on. She is four months out and has lost 77 lbs.
My PCOS is definately improved, my body hair is far, far less and the facial hair growth has slowed down. I'm also loosing weight from around my waist at last (lost 8").
Personally I'd stick with a UK surgeon, I used Bupa/Spire Portsmouth and Mr Shaw Somers
