Hey
Newbie here. Due for surgery in less than a week. Some nerves, but overall excited. I've been doing my pre-op diet for 8 days now, and ive lost 9lbs which is great news. Im surprised ive managed to stick to it religiously as usually around day 5 i waver. I feel as if i have to do this now. I cant go on all my life yoyo dieting and being limited by my weight and low self esteem!

Re: Hey
Welcome!! I felt the same way. I thought I was the Queen of yoyo dieting! I did the surgery for my health and my future. I can't deny that 3 days prior I was a nervous wreck but I get a lot of useful and helpful information here. Thank goodness!!
You'll be very sore the 1st 3 days but the pain meds really help and I did a lot of walking!!! If I wasn't sleeping during the night i was walking. It really helped and I could see a big difference between patients who didn't walk much and the others who knew all the nursing staff!! LOL
Best wishes! You'll do just fine!

Re: Hey
Good luck! I was nervous going in, was released from the hospital after one night. I was up walking just a couple of hours after surgery (made me feel better to walk because the gas they put in your stomach is uncomfortable, walking helps). I only took pain medication so I could sleep better. Only did that for two nights after surgery! I think the hardest part for me was the 2-week liquid diet (I also did this three weeks before Christmas). The thing that still drives me crazy is not being able to drink a bunch of liquid at one time, or during meals! Good luck to you!
