Ok I see a lot of people speaking about having a liquid diet a week before having the Sleeve done. Do all Dr. do this? My doctor has not mentioned it yet. I'm scheduled for sometime in July.

no, they don't all do it. mine wants a TWO week liquid diet pre-op. Some only want 3 days. Some allow one meal a day. Lots of variance regarding this.
According to my doctor, it depends on your BMI. If you have a very high BMI, the doctor may recommend a liquid diet to help shrink your liver. If your BMI is on the lower end, you may not be asked to go on a pre-op diet. Like Pam said, the length of the diet varies.
Best wishes with your upcoming surgery!
My doctor doesn't have us go on a pre-op diet. We could eat right up until midnight before the surgery.
My doctor actually lifts the table for surgery so we're more upright. Maybe it moves the liver out of the way.
(Pre-op diets are meant to shrink the liver. If your Dr wants you on a pre-op diet make sure you do it. If your liver is too large when they go to do the sleeve you might wake up with nothing done.)
Whenever I had questions like this one, I would call and ask someone on my surgical team. They were more than happy to answer my questions.
Best of luck as you embark on your journey!
