NC / SC Storm Update
We are fortunate that while we have a place on the coastline, its not our primary home. That said, we are predicted to be in the heavy rain, power outage area even where we are inland.
So if I'm off line, its weather related, not lack of interest. I did make sure I have sleeve friendly food available without power. We have done everything we're supposed to.
Praying for all those along the coast - most have not recovered from the flooding of Hurricane Matthew 2 years ago. Don't ask the opinion of those affected by FEMAs poor performance what they think of pre storm hype.
It's in God' hands.

Re: NC / SC Storm Update
UPDATE: Well goodness. We are finally getting the heavy rains and high winds this morning -- a long way from the beach to here. We've been in prayer for the first responders, and those who have lost their lives. I think our neighborhood is in good shape -- lots of shallow rooted trees, but we've all had so many taken out the past 2 years. And of course, the lake -- it is controlled by Duke Power and they've lowered the level anticipating the flooding that will hit the mountains and run back down. We weathered (lol) Hugo with only a 10 day power outage. Grateful for the improving conditions and minimal loss of life.
Damage -- well lots of NC had not recovered from Hurricane Matthew 2 years ago due to delay of FEMA money...

Re: NC / SC Storm Update
Storm is considered over but flooding across the state continues. Lots of roads in the SE part of the state are washed out,, dangerous, impassable. And people persist in driving in standing water.
We are great - not even enough sticks blown down for the neighbor kids to earn some bucks picking up. Very humid, very hot. Praying no more east coast storms this year.
Thank you all for checking on us!

Re: NC / SC Storm Update
Gawd we always have the stupid people who insist on driving in water here and end up in a lot of bother and wasting emergency services time. Im so glad you are all well Annie. I have been stuck in floods twice in Australia. Once on my way home from work so I turned around and went back to the birth suite to deliver a few more babies and once when I couldn't even get to work!!! It is very scary especially with flash floods and I do wish people would be more sensible. We had the most terrible floods in Brisbane in 2011 but there were many joyful stories of everyone taking to the streets and helping other people out afterwards. Do stay safe x
