Since we're talking about "moving our bodies", I want to share how wonderful it is to be able to provide free fitness and yoga classes to our patients at the hospital. We have amazing instructors, and some of the patients were in wheelchairs before surgery and soon after, but through following the process and moving their bodies; are now doing some of the movements out of their chairs. It's so rewarding to see people who never exercised doing planks, albeit; on chairs for some but nevertheless doing them:) We had 20 bariatric patients at yoga and they can do it seated, on the mat or both. I just love sharing the movement of the body and improvement of the mind with the patients and it's one of the most rewarding parts of my wonderful job!
B: probably some eggs, 1 turkey sausage and 1/4 piece of rye bread (eating at hospital cause I was too lazy to pack breakfast)
L: 3 ozs. of beef brisket, on chopped salad
D: salmon, couscous w/sautéed radishes and topped w/scallions and snow peas
S: 1 rice cake w/almond butter & sf jam

B: 2 cups of tea w/Fairlife milk, 2 hrs later Egg Frittata
L: Grilled chicken w/roasted Brussels sprouts, butternut squash, carrots & potatoes
S: Plain greek yogurt w/frozen blueberries
D: Grilled chicken w/grape tomatoes, artichoke heart, walnuts & balsamic dressing

We do yoga at Healthtrax in Washington Twp. near the Kennedy hospital. We do fitness at Kennedy Stratford, NJ.

Morning all! Thursday, one day closer to Friday which means the weekend!!!
Going to make a marketing trip to a higher end consignment store today with my manager. Want to see if we can get them on board to do a fashion show for our patients. This particular consignment store carries larger sizes, from 1x to 3x and some of our patients are still in the larger sized stages. Should be interesting:)
B: not sure, but probably 2 egg whites, 1 nectarine
L: not sure, depends on what time we get back and there is a small lunch/catering establishment that we'd like to get to partner with us also (always working it)
D: salmon, spinach salad (getting hair done at 4:00, so I'm just putting the salad together with leftover salmon
S: 1 rice cake w/almond butter & sf jelly

Happy Monday! Beautiful sunny albeit cold weather in NJ; hoping we get away without any snow this year (fingers crossed)
B: usual, plain non-fat Greek yogurt w/mango, berries, granola and chopped pecans
L: 3 ounces grilled salmon on salad, chick peas, 1 beet, green peppers, red onions and OPA Greek yogurt dressing
D: probably either 1/2 sandwich of turkey breast w/lettuce, tomato, cucumber on whole grain bread or a yogurt - It's Yoga Monday and I don't get home until 8ish, trying to conquer the nighttime eating demons:(

happy tuesday!
breakfast: cottage cheese and 2 slices bacon
snack: 3 ounces grilled chicken salad with tomatoes
lunch: leftover chipotle copycat barbecoa and corn salsa with a little queso fresco on top
snack: p3 protein pack (ham, cheese, almonds)
dinner: grilled chicken tikka masala - making rice for hubby, might have a tablespoon depending on my carb count at the end of the day
not making it to the gym tonight because i need to work late, so i'll probably drink a protein shake on the train home since dinner will be late.

Late start today!
B: 1 hard boiled egg & 1 white, 1 slice bacon on this yummy whole grain bread (1/2 slice) ate on way to work
L: scoop of tuna, 1 pickle, few chick peas (ate on a bench in the sun)
D: eating dinner at work with a fellow co-worker who had the surgery also, ricotta back, salad (probably none for me)
Bariatric Fitness tonight and might grab a yogurt Light & Fit toasted vanilla coconut when I get home:) It's beautiful here today, in fact, I ate lunch outside on the bench with my face in the sun. 4-8 inches of snow predicted for tomorrow, go figure!

Having nice weather certainly helps the morale. Here in Montreal, Canada, we have cold, winters weather. Can't wait to be able to eat outside again.

Hello Monday people!
These "winter weekends" do me in:( I eat badly, graze too often, and don't exercise enough; not liking it. I know for sure that when I retire, it will be to a warm climate so I can move more than I do in NJ.
B: usual, non fat Greek yogurt w/berries, granola, and some chopped pecans
L: small chopped salad w/tuna packet, chick peas, green peppers
D: not sure, but it's yoga until 8 ish. Will grab either a protein drink or protein bar before yoga and maybe some yogurt or a hard boiled egg when I get home

I am fortunate that my gym/wellness center is a full-service center. We have countless classes as well as nutrition counseling and bariatric support groups. If anyone is central Jersey, try to the Rahway Fitness Center. There are several locations. We also have chair yoga and like jerzey said, its so amazing to see people in wheelchairs and walkers doing the moves.
B: 1/2c. special k protein cereal, milk
coffee
L: 1/2 panini
D: turkey burger, small salad
S: yogurt w/raisins and peanuts

Today we are busy cleaning our snow storm remanants. LOL. I can relate to those of you who live in a cold winters state. I live in Canada, and we certainly have our share of cold, snowy winters. But lets all look at the bright side, spring is around the corner. "Hopefully"
B: 1 egg, 1 slice of bacon
L: 1/2 chicken breast, onions, green peppers
S: Not sure yet.

Morning all, guess nobody uses this thread too much any longer. Well, I need some accountability, so here goes:)
B: usual - Greek plain non-fat yogurt, berries, granola, crushed walnuts to top
L: Sweet & spicy tuna packet on chopped salad, chick peas, green peppers, cheese stick and OPA Greek yogurt jalapeno dressing (2 tsps.)
D: ricotta bake, buffalo cauliflower
S: Yasso chocolate fudge bar (90 calories)
I have been low on water consumption, and will make sure I drink 70-80 ounces! Hope everyone has a great Monday:)
