3 year surgerversary
3 years ago today I had life changing surgery.
After being obese for most of my adult life I decided at age 54 that enough was enough and it was time to take control of my life once and for all.
A small inheritance meant that I was able to be self pay. Ironically I was too "healthy" for public funded surgery!
Now I am half the weight I was prior to surgery. I have so much energy - which is just as well with 6 active grandkids - I'm healthier and so much happier....and buying clothes is so much fun :)
I am so thankful for this forum. Everyone is so supportive and happy to offer advice and share their own stories. I only knew one other person who had wls prior to joining here so being able to come here has been wonderful. I have learnt so much.
Now that I am well and truly into maintenance I know that the work doesn't end it's an ongoing job - but it is so, so much easier after surgery.
Thank you everyone.
