Hi there - I am excited to have my revision surgery on march 13. Wondering how quickly you travelled for work (or for fun) after your surgery.
Half the people on this forum seem to have surgery in Mexico & then fly home in 3-4 days so it doesn't seem to be a problem. I think the main issue is the potential for blood clots so some surgeons will give you an anti-clot injection if it's fairly soon after surgery. I took a 5 hour flight 6 weeks after surgery and the only issue I had was being amazed by how easily I fit into my seat for a change.
I'm jumping into comment on your comment about fitting into an airplane seat better... I think that was what did me in about 1.5 years ago. I had to ask for an extension for the first time. A seat belt extension. I was embarrassed. Mad at myself. And knew something had to change.
You know, I never thought I'd admit that to anyone and I just put it on a forum. lol.

Oh I bought my own seat belt extender! I'd hide it in my backpack and sneak it out. Yep, desperate people do desperate things....Quote:

I'm working my pre op on the bari.. menu.. about 1000 cals a day. when you figure excersize in.. make it lower (at least in my mind) The menu is easy and focuses on smaller portions. i feel so much better with smaller portions. I'll bet we are all going to save so much money at the grocery stores!!!

Yeah the blood clot thing is the most you have to worry about. Also, in the beginning you have to ensure you can eat and get your protein in so traveling will involve bringing protein powders with you (if flying-you can take premade if going by car).
