Minecraft has taken over my children since lock down. They play Windows store edition PE is it ?
Anyway they now want to get into mods after watching countless YouTube videos. So believe they need java correct?
Couple of questions...
1. can you run java and the other version on the same pc ?
2. Do you use the same login ?
3. Best place to buy java edition?

I never thought I would bump into a Minecraft post on a gastric sleeve website, and I absolutely love it! Minecraft is, in my opinion, one of the best video games of all time, so your children have definitely chosen the right game to play in these lockdown conditions. It's really good for cultivating initiative and creativity at this age, so you shouldn't worry about it. To be fair, I'm not a big fan of mods. I prefer the good old-school classic servers. There is a huge variety of free Minecraft servers available online, so feel free to surf. Cheers!
In fact, it is very strange that a parent decided to understand the child's game. Java itself is updated automatically so there's nothing to worry about.

Firstly, it is possible to run both the Java and Windows store editions of Minecraft on the same PC without any issues. However, you will need separate logins for each version. To purchase the Java edition, it's best to buy directly from the Minecraft website to ensure you're getting the authentic version.
