Ow. Yours definitely sounds worse. I think I have it on a good place because it is my thigh but on the outer side/saddlebag area and not a part I sleep on. I was also told to use an ice pack on it and that actually feels amazing on it.

You know I think that we do have a bit of a weaker immune system post op and I know that makes getting shingles easier. I was actually shocked at how prevalent it is. I mentioned it on facebook and was shocked to see how many people have had it. I also thought it was more for people over 50 but people were saying that they had gotten it in 8th grade, someone's kid had it at 8, and all sorts of other ages.
I hope you feel better very soon!! Take care!
Big hugs!!
(My bday was also not that good this year...next year will be better!)
Hope you're feeling better peachy face xxx
Ouch! Feel better! I had it once on just a tiny part of one side of my face and it felt like someone was putting a knife in my skin. I can't imagine the pain on a large section of your body.
Now that I'm old I had the shingles shot so shouldn't get it again.
I was super lucky because I caught it fast and got the antibiotics only about 48 hours after rash started. I had a suspicion it was shingles but felt kind of stupid self diagnosing it. BUT I had read if you catch it early it is better so I bit the bullet and went to the doctor. It also went away relatively quickly since I caught it early. I never realized how common it actually is. Anyone who has had chicken pox can get it. The myth that only older people get it prevents a lot of people from seeking treatment right away.
Menthol talcum powder helps with that.
I've had the shot, which they now tell me only lasts a few years -- th enew vaccine, Shingrex, is a double dose and not available and expensive.
Hey, did it pass quickly?! I think that I have the same symptoms. The worst thing is that I have skin tags and I'm afraid because of it. I know that it is a little dangerous, skin tags can create cancer and different infections. I started to look once for some solutions with the skin tags and found this blog skintagsoff.com. There I found the information that I have never thought about. Also, they are writing there about a natural oil that works as a skin tag remover. I'm thinking to order that oil and maybe it will help for the shingles too?!
