need some tips on surviving this!
Tea, Broth, Water with Crystal light, Protein Shakes, and Smoothies especially if you work out. (You don't want to almost pass out like me! Whoops!)
It's hard but soooooo worth it. You will notice a change quick! Don't think about it as 2 weeks. Focus every day, one day at a time and you WILL get past it.
Keep your mind busy and go to bed early. The longer you are up the more you will tempted and if you are tired too then it is hard to fight. And an idle mind will tempt you way to much.
Thank you!!!
thank you! Looks like you have had alot of success!
good luck, I was fortunate, my doctor only required a low carb diet 2 weeks prior but I am currently on all liquid diet for 2 weeks post before graduating to puree had my sure 12.30.16 and feel better already than I have in years!!!!
Good luck, you got this!!!
I am now just getting into my second week and It is hard. I snacked on plain almond jello bites and pickles when I had cravings. I have lost 12 pounds so far and I am in my second week. I was set to have surgery on the 17th but my Doctor moved to to the 24th so now I have a extra week to get through. I was so mad but I'm just trying to remain positive. After the 3rd day I felt great actually I feel wonderful so much energy and not as weak and tired.
thanks. my surgery is the 24th also!!!
thanks. Looks like you are making good and speedy progress...
All I can say is hang in there! Before you know it it'll be time for the surgery. You can do this!!!
I also had creamed soups made with skim milk. I needed something that felt real.
Best advice ever!!!! Thanks.... I needed that:)
My advice: Remember why you're doing this pre-op diet. The reason for the diet is not to lose weight. It's to shrink your liver so that your surgeon and you don't run the risk of your liver being torn during surgery. Because if that happened -- hoo boy! Don't even want to think about it.
This means you should stay away from both calories and carbs.
"Cheating" on the pre-op diet could have more dire effects than any "diet cheating" you've ever done before. This is a way different situation.
Good luck!
P.S. The first three days were the hardest for me. After that, it wasn't so tough. I hope yours goes that way. :)
