About me
My surgery was performed in Charleston WV JUNE 4, I have wrestled with weight loss for many years but it really went out of control in 2007. I had both of my knees replace by 2011 then a hip replacement. I got my first grandson in 2012, my second grandson 2014 granddaughter in march 2016. In June 2016 our community endured a flood that is still causing problems and homeless . In March 2017 I lost my oldest son. It's been a rough few years. My only sister lives in Texas and after I lost my son I went to be with her for a month or so and I fell and crushed the bones in my left wrist. I kept gaining weight. My middle son was struggling also and so I told him we'd do the buddy system. He is very supportive and is doing great himself. My goal is to get healthy for my grandkids and kids.

Re: About me
Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your Sleeve! I'm sorry you've had so many struggles. I'm wishing you nothing but success and happiness on your journey being sleeved. You sound like a strong person and I believe you will be happy with your decision. Feeling and being physically able to be more active with those sweet grandbabies sure sounds like great motivation, I'm obsessed with babies.
Stick around and ask away. Everyone is awesome and has something to share. I learn things every day. :)

Welcome!
Your positivity shines through your adversity.
VSG is a miraculous tool. It’s one of the best decisions I ever made for myself. The benefit...it has improved my life experience with my loved ones also.

Re: About me
First, I'm sorry for your troubles; life sometimes gets very difficult. But how wonderful you have a family member/buddy. Having support makes so much difference.
I've found this forum to be full of lovely, helpful, honest folks. It's made a lot of difference. I just turned 67, and have 4 grandchildren (7-16). Being around to see how they all turn out appears to be one of the best benefits of my VGS.
That and my increased ability to participate in life in general. I am so grateful I did it. Keep posting!

Re: About me
Welcome.
Boy, sometimes life is just really hard. You obviously have been through an awful lot.
I'm so pleased that you have this positive time now to focus on.
We have 7 grand children and I am now able to run around (literally) after them and it is such fun.
All the best for your recovery.
