Still Above Ground, LOL. Sorry for absence
Normally I check the board daily but have been having some nonsleeve related health issues.
So I will be checking and trying to support y'all, but not quite as consistently as I like.
I had syncope and ended up in hospital Sunday; boatload of tests, then saw my cardiologist (yep, I have 7 stents already and failed triple bypass). So more tests this coming week.
Post sleeve, with weight loss, I was able to go off all my meds for chronic unstable angina. It has gradually been creeping back, despite a cholesterol total 0f 100. My heart is fine, my blood vessels are not. Personally, I blame my chemo's over the years, but since I'm still above ground to complain, it is what it is.
Anyway, you guys are always in my morning prayers for successes, both sleeve and life experiences. I'll check in as I can.
And my cardiologist has kept me going for 18 years, so not to worry!
Hugs! Annie

I thought it had been awfully quiet from your corner. Sorry to hear what you’ve been dealing with and hope you’re on the mend.

Hi Annie,
Sorry about your heart troubles!! I hope you can rest and feel better soon with your doctor's help. Best wishes for a fast recovery!
I saw thre cardiologist during those past months, one was really interesting. I had some minor arrhythmia issues (consequence of the acute anemia) but we also discussed my other issues and for him, cholesterol is not the main issue, he said most of his patients have either diabetes or high blood pressure because both issues are linked directly to arteries getting clogged and harder.
My mother have bad diabetes (her diet is bad and she doesn't take her meds everyday) she had to have stents two years ago.
I was worried I could follow the same path at some point because anemia also messed up my HBP but it's now under control and HBP back to normal.
I guess we just do our best with what we have. I found out recently that one of the reason why my immune system is so weak since childhood, it's because I've been exposed to high dosage of pesticides when I grew up in the French West Indies (it was used heavily in banana plantation and did reach all water supplies) . Nothing much I can do now, it might explain my really bad endometriosis since it does disturb all the endocrine system. My childhood friend's dad and brother had prostate cancer, 95% of the population had been exposed, it's bad...Anyway, all that to say that I searched what I could do....nothing much really, but in my naturopathy curriculum I was reading about chlorella which is an algae (or even superfood) which help people with anemia because of the iron content, but also help people with intoxication to heavy metals or chemical substances because it's helping the body to evacuate toxins. So I'm taking chorella for a few weeks now, not sure it's really working for toxins but at least it will help with iron. It might work for chemo?? who knows!! my youngest is taking it too (for the good protein and iron) and she noticed her acne cleared one week after starting it....could be a placebo effect but a win is a win!
take care! .
