Hi, today is the first day I’m able to eat soft foods so I tried 2 scrambled eggs and did it feel full satisfied yes full no, although I felt I could of had more o didn’t, is this normal I hear stories of “oh you’ll have a bite and feel full” this didn’t happened for me should I be worried?
Where I live, we tell "the story of the mouse".
A little mouse was attacked by a cat.
Unable to run away, it dropped to the floor and pretended to be dead.
The cat comes, looks at the mouse, but the mouse does not move.
Disappointed, the cat walks away.
Then the mouse sees the cat leave, jumps up and runs.
Your sleeve is like that mouse.
Still numb from the operation, bruised and hurt.
It can't do anything else than play dead.
It does not give the right signals yet, it is totally confused and still wondering what happened.
What you described will pass.
You will feel that tightness soon enough.
Just keep doing what you are supposed to do and hang in there!

I'm not sure how to say this but don't eat to feel 'full'. Eat according to food scales and measuring utensils. If your doctor said have 2T of food have that and quit don't try to see how much you can eat. My food scale is my true best friend. It has never lied to me about how much I'm eating. Now is the time you need to start building good habits that you can use when you get to your goal weight. I'm 3.5 years post op and I'm still measuring.
I don't know if it's true or not but I've heard that over eating can cause you to become numb to the feeling of fullness. When you lose that sensation you can easily overeat.

The amount depends on what I'm eating. If I have a salad I usually have 5-6 ounces of lettuce/cucumber/tomato etc. and 3 ounces of protein. With lettuce you can get away with a little more because it's basically water after you chew it up. If it's something like broccoli or other fibrous vegetable then 2-3 ounces of the veggie and 3 ounces of protein. Broccoli and brussel sprouts tend to be really filling if not chewed to death.Quote:

As you navigate the field of post surgery eating try to find recipes that have good flavor in small quantities. Those types of meals will sustain you when you get to your goal weight and help you not go back to your past vices, or at least it did for me.
Take your time, only introduce one new food at a time. The reason for one new food is so that if your new stomach doesn't like it you know what to avoid. If you do several new foods in a meal and have issues you don't know which food to cut out.
It's all new after surgery and what you eat isn't one size fits all, find what works for you so that you lose weight and maintain your loss.
To answer your question, no. That was not at all normal from my experience. I could not even eat a whole egg for a long long time, and certainly not two. I sure can now. In this 4th year, I am able to eat lots more than I was in the previous 3 years.

I also weigh my foods, and I noticed that I am full with 6 ounces of food.
I don't have a medical team, so I figure it out myself as I go along in this journey.
But to go back to the question: I could never (still) not eat more than one egg, not even 15 months post op.
I did not feel full until I was on solids. And I never measured anything. I just ate to feel satisfied. I am almost 19 months out and if I eat soft foods or carb products like bread/chips/crackers etc I can eat a lot more than I can of solid proteins and veggies.
