I did it!
Well, February 5th finally came along and my surgery is done. Yahoo! I only stayed in the hospital one night after surgery and came home yesterday. Very sore, a bit nauseous but only occasionally and concentrating on sipping my protein shake and getting in my water. Just don’t feel like eating at all but I know I need to get in my water/protein shake or I’ll end up back in the hospital from dehydration.
I keep telling myself that it will get better each day just as you folks on this site have noted and hanging onto every word you share since you’ve all been through it already.
Thanks everyone!,

Re: I did it!
Sounds like you're doing great! You know what to do. Besides sipping and walking a little, be sure to take lots of naps. I loved my naps that first week! I did nap in my recliner as my bed was sort of high and difficult to get into right after surgery.

Re: I did it!
Cheers to you! I had my surgery on a Wednesday and barely even touched my phone, much less a computer, until I went back to work on Monday, so to see you posting already is quite an accomplishment! Welcome to "the other side" where life is great!

Re: I did it!
Congratulations. Sounds as though you are doing just fine. Yep, water, protein, walking and napping. That should be the order of the day for the first week. Be kind to your self. You are doing great!
