Does anyone know of a good surgeon in MS. I live in Southwest MS
I am going to Mobile Al, USA Center For Weight Loss Surgery. My insurance does not pay, and my friend used them for self pay as they were very reasonable compared to Jackson Metro Area. They are a "center for excellence". I looked into Transformations, Baptist and St Dominic. All of them were about the same cost. I started out to use the program @ St Dominick and paid the $300 fee to see surgeon and he was a Jerk and half. He asked me if went home at night and ate the rest of the night. Then he said you must eat 4000 or 5000 calories a day to be at my weight (290) 5000 calories a day = 8 big macs! He could used the surgery himself. Yes, I do weigh a lot, and I had to eat to get here, but since my heart attack in 2011, I have only gained 4 lbs. No way I could eat 5000 a day and just gain 4 lbs. in 2 years. You can check out Transformations in Flowood if your insurance will cover, but if you are self pay it will be $15,750 including BLIS insurance. St D is $13,750 and that does not include BLIS insurance. The place I am going is $11,900 including BLIS insurance all inclusive with test, hospital, etc. The doctor visit is $1127.00, compared to the $300 I paid to talk to a big jerk.
I used Dr Balder at Garden Park Medical center in Gulfport. He is AMAZING. His staff is so friendly and welcoming. I absolutely LOVED the surgery center where I had the surgery. I highly recommended him. He's performed over 2000 gastric surgeries. If you have any questions feel free to ask me.
