Another 'small' scale victory
I've been doing a lot of traveling the past couple of weeks and I was worried about being able to maintain my eating schedule. I kept protein shakes with me for those times I couldn't easily eat reasonably. I didn't weigh myself for over a week and this morning I got on the scales and......…..
I am under 180! I didn't think I'd EVER see myself getting back down the scale before my sleeve surgery. I feel so good on the inside that the compliments on my "outside" are just the cherry on top. This has been a life changing experience and I am grateful that I finally made the decision to get my life back. I'm happily making plans and traveling for the first time in years. It's a great feeling!
Re: Another 'small' scale victory
Good for you! That's basically the only time I struggle, when traveling.
Re: Another 'small' scale victory
Yay! It’s difficult to eat health while traveling so good job!
Re: Another 'small' scale victory
Congrats on your scale victory!
It’s a happy experience knowing I am able to get outside my comfort zone and still apply all that I’ve learned to stay healthy.
“Mindfulness “ is my word of the day, especially when I’m traveling.
You go girl!
Re: Another 'small' scale victory
Congratulations! I dream of seeing 180 again but I have a long way to go.
Re: Another 'small' scale victory
Yay for you! Savor your victory girl! I agree, eating healthy while traveling is a challenge. Sounds like you had a handle on it though. Keep up the good work.
Re: Another 'small' scale victory
Yes, traveling is the toughest time for me, too. And I travel a lot.
I like what WANAGL said: "Mindfulness" It's an excellent "word of the day." Over and over.

Based on your results, you'll be seeing 180 and below soon. Keep up the good work!

Oh what a cool post to read! I find traveling isn't so hard, but then again my choices are limited as to where we go -- about all the travel is to Saratoga Springs, or North Myrtle Beach, or Raleigh. and they are familiar, so I rather know before we go, where we will eat.
I find my challenge is not to indulge in "mindless" eating. So mindfulness may need to be posted on the kitchen & pantry door!
Re: Another 'small' scale victory
Great post, thank you!
I love reading this.
You are doing great!
@WANAGL: I love your new avatar!
Re: Another 'small' scale victory
Woohoo! Good for you. Anytime we step outside our normal routine can be a challenge. I love the "Mindfulness" thought idea. Perhaps I should get that tattooed on my hand so I see it every time I go to put something in my mouth ;-) I haven't had an issue yet but we have a big trip coming up so being mindful is going to be key.

You'll get there, Jen, "One Day at a Time" and before you know it; WOW, it will happen!!!
Re: Another 'small' scale victory
Congrats! I can't wait to see below 180. It's been at least 15 years if not more. Before the surgery, I really struggled to envision myself being successful at losing weight because it's been a battle for so long. What an amazing feeling to feel like you have your life back! That's an awesome NSV.
