Dr. Vuong on YouTube

OK, it's a cold, snowy day here and I've been lazy. Found Dr. Vuong videos on YouTube. Guys, he is AMAZING. I've been so complacent at 6 years out, thinking I know it all. I'm maintaining my weight pretty well.

I have learned so much today! I feel like I'm starting this journey from scratch. It's like I have a new free therapist. Not to mention he is fricking hilarious.

His ideas of what to eat are totally different. May be time to switch things up. He talks about a green smoothie for breakfast, salad with protein for lunch, and lean protein for dinner. No snacking. He feels a BMI of 20 should be our goal. (Not there).

He talks about how ridiculous those statistics we are told before surgery are, the ones that say we will lose 65% of our excess weight on average. He claims only losing that much would mean we are still quite overweight.

Anyways, food for thought. So many new ideas. It's been a fun afternoon. Interesting, funny, insightful guy.

20 BMI??? I don't think I'll see that in my lifetime! I'll check out his vlogs--sounds like another piece of arsenal for us!

I really like his stuff. One thing he did that I love is his video on mindful eating, the eight steps to slowing it down. Very useful information.

What a great different perspective! I am in the process of binge watching them now!

Totally different perspective!! But after 6 years, I'm going to try some of them. Like I just started following his "no snacking" rule and eating 3 meals a day. (He says fat/formerly fat people can't be trusted with a snack!!) I may even try a green smoothie for breakfast, I have never made a smoothie in my life.

One of my favorites is where he says you can choose to be a weight loss patient for life or choose not to. I hope to get so into making the right choices that I don't have to feel like I'm a sleeve patient for life. Just a regular person. I'm getting there.

Made me think about slowing down my eating. I recognise that I have started to eat too fast again. Looking forward to watching more of these.

I'm interested in the no snacking rule. I currently do snack - good stuff. If I didn't snack I would have to look at my main meals. I don't think a protein shake for breakfast would hold me until lunchtime - but then maybe I just "think " I need a snack?! I'll have to find out about these green smoothies!

I said I wouldn't snack today and I want a snack right now! Hubby is at the gym so dinner will be late. I don't think I can go without something healthy to tide me over.

But I did have my first ever green smoothie for breakfast and big ass salad for lunch!

OK, he just said no coffee. Nope. Not going to follow all his advice.
