Anyone from New Haven, CT Area?
Just starting the journey and would love to go through it with others from my area. I live in Guilford, CT and am meeting with my surgeon for the first time on February 28. Going with Fairfield Bariatrics with Dr. Floch. Surgery at St. Vincent's in Bridgeport. Looking forward to meeting other beginners.
Re: Anyone from New Haven, CT Area?
Hello and welcome!! I am 6 months post op and work in Ansonia- so we are practically neighbors! I had my surgery in Hartford, though, because I actually live in Litchfield county. PM me and we can chat- I'm happy to get together and to offer whatever support and advice that I can! Business takes me into NH several times a month.
Re: Anyone from New Haven, CT Area?
I had surgery done with Fairfield Bariatrics and had my surgery done in St v's by Dr Fridman. If you have any questions feel free to ask :)

West Haven Here;
Have no date for surgery yet but it should be in Jan/Feb. My Dr. is Kurt Roberts - Yale. My procedure is a revision from band to sleeve. Good luck and keep in touch.

I also have dr roberts as my surgeon. He removed my gallbladder last april and did my grandmas hernia repair two years ago. Hes a great surgeon. He is also great at listening to his patients! Good luck! Im looking at a prospective surgery in may pending my 3 month diet :-)
Re: Anyone from New Haven, CT Area?
I am from Stamford and going to attend the seminar given by Fairfield Bariatrics on Wednesday. I've been told to go to Dr. Floch by so many people! Right now I'm just hoping and praying to get the surgery covered by insurance. I have a BMI of 37 with severe sleep apnea. Anyone else have a BMI lower than 40 but had it covered by insurance? I need something to look forward to because I'm so depressed right now.
Re: Anyone from New Haven, CT Area?
I am from Middletown, CT and am in the beginning of the process. I also have a low bmi about 36. I have fatty liver with NASH. My liver is being damaged because of my weight of 210 lbs. I also have sleep apnea but it is mild. Not sure if insurance will cover this. I guess I have to go through the whole process to find out whether they cover this or not. Hopefully it will be covered.
Re: Anyone from New Haven, CT Area?
Hi Blondiee, where are you now? I had sleeve 12/14 and am going to MD on Monday to talk about revision to bypass. Have had problems with reflux, hiatal hernia and shatzky ring.
Re: Anyone from New Haven, CT Area?
Hi mesnermx,
I also have reflux, hiatial hernia and shatzky ring. I am just beginning the process. I still have to go to the seminar in August. Sorry took so log to answer but I have had some medical problems with my liver. I have fatty liver due to my weight. I am trying to go through medical weight loss but I think I am going to have to go with surgical weight loss instead.
