3 weeks post op - gurgling, hard to get anything down

I am three weeks post op sleeve. Does the gurgling, hard to get anything down get easier as each day passes? My surgeon advanced to me to blended foods because I wasn't getting enough nutrition or fluids from the full liquid diet. I was re-admitted to the hospital on my second week post-op for severe GERD. Surgeon did an endoscopy and stretched out a kink. I'm taking protonix and carafate but the gurgling and feeling it slowly making it way down is uncomfortable. Also, has anyone experienced diarrhea after introducing blended foods back into their diet after so many weeks of only a full liquid diet? I never thought this surgery and recovery would be easy but trying to stay hydrated and nourished has been very hard.

I dealt with all that stuff, and still do 6 years later. The most horrible of it all has resolved. I still have terrible Gerd that I have to be vigilanttaking my Protonix for, but haven't been hospitalized since the end of year one post op. Are you taking liquid carafate or pill form? I assume liquid since you're still so early out. That stuff was a godsend for me. The pills didn't help at all, but the liquid form helped tremendously. Some of us just have a really hard go of it, and it may take you a while to feel better, but it does (mostly) get better. Best of luck to you.

Please, please, please go back to your surgeon if you do not feel any better.
Don't "put up" with anything. Keep asking questions - even ask for a 2nd opinion if you are not satisfied.

I didn't have GERD, but my stomach 'talked" for about the whole first month. Made crazy noises. Glad that went away!

Thank you for well wishes! I'm taking the liquid carafate and it helps tremendously. It's like a rollercoaster ride, one day you feel like you are truly recovering and the next day you feel so so bad.

PS my stomach has been gurgling for the last hour since dinnsr. So, I'm gonna guess this is a lifelong thing now since it's been 6 years. �� Mine is almost like a burp but not. It starts in the center of my tummy and gurgles up to my throat and just stops there. It doesn't come out of my mouth like a burp would. It's so loud and annoying.

I have found that if I eat something on "my approved liquids/foods" list every two to three hours during the day I do not get the horrible GERD. I have actually had three nights without GERD waking me up. I take my Protonix like clockwork every 12 hours and am not having to take as much carafate. Today I am four weeks post surgery and go for my second post op surgeon visit tomorrow.
