Ha Monique, my name Is Deborah I was looking for someone that weight as much as I did. Look like I will be the largest on the cite 389. I have always carried my weight well also. I am more heavy in the hips. I have just let my weight get out of control. It looks like my surgery will not be getting done to September I think my doctor is busy with vacation and everything. My name is Monique. I noticed you on the african american sleevers page. I see you had your surgery last August. Just curious as to how much weight you've lost so far? I was just sleeved on the 26th of June and I've only lost 8 pounds so far. I must admit that I thought I would've been losing faster than what I have so far considering I started at over 300 lbs and I've always thought the bigger you are the more and the faster you lose. My highest weight was 365, although the day of my surgery I was 327. This morning I was 319. My goal weight is 180. Let's keep in touch!

I live in Jersey as well and I was a 400 pounder. As a matter of fact, when I started this weight loss journey, I was 459 pounds. I got a personal trainer in Feb. of 2011 and worked out with her for one year. She had me moving like you wouldn't believe. I lost 50 pounds with her and kept that 50 off for a year. After not losing anymore weight, I decided to try and get approved for the Lap-Band. My insurance instantly approved for me to get it done. I then changed my mind one week before surgery to the Gastric Sleeve. Best decision ever! My surgery weight was 412 pounds on 6/6/2012 and I am now 344 pounds as of 9/12/2012. I am feeling so much better and I love the new me. I used to sweat all over the place just from standing. I am working out now five days a week for a minumum of 1 hour. I find that when I go to the gym, I don't want to leave because I am determined to get this weight down now that I made this change and was given a second chance at life again. hey you! im down 85 lbs since surgery day! my start weight was 450 but i had to lose 50 lbs prior to surgery, so i dno if thats about average or what, but i will say, ive had quite a few stalls, i struggled w dehyderation n stuff n didnt lose nethng for like n entire month! and thennnn i got to 315 n the doc put me on meds for the lst 3 weeks thats made me gain weight, smh, thats jus my luck haha, but it is what it is and im deff happy with the progress, ppl jus dno how hard it is to lug arnd 450lbs still n the 300s i feel like a completly different person! you will feel such big differences with each month im so xcited for u! stay n contact

Are you feeling any better?

Yes I was. Am doing very well, managed to get through without any problems. Went home on the 19th, haven't been on any pain meds since leaving the hospital. Tolerating drink and food and just in from my second 10 minute walk of the day. Had a minor meltdown on the second day, so weepy and cranky and irritable and wanting that cannula out! But better now.

Hope you are feeling better soon and able to tolerate drinks and food.
