freezing berries and fruit

by BarbaraParks on 06-15-2012 at 11:20 AM
I just learned how to freeze berries and bananas so they won't stick together.

Put plastic wrap on a cookie sheet and place berries (without touching) or sliced bananas, place the sheet in the freezer overnight.
Then just take them off the sheet and put them in a ziplock bag and put them in the freezer. They won't stick together and bananas don't brown.

I add a few to my visalus protein shakes and don't need ice. Yum
Cool huh?

New Sleevers

by BarbaraParks on 06-07-2012 at 08:56 PM
I know lots of you have recently had a sleeve. I hope all is well with you all and that you all are healing fast.

I promise that it will be worth it. The beginning is rough. It's hard to get enough fluids and the gas can be uncomfortable. Trust all of us who have been there before you.
I remember when I was first sleeved almost 4 yrs ago. I thought, what the heck did I do.... But everything got easier while I was healing. I hated throwing up. My body let me know what

Here's something weird from a 4 yr out sleever

by BarbaraParks on 05-19-2012 at 09:39 PM
If I go out to dinner or eat something and lay back, like on the couch or sit in a dark movie theatre. I have been known to fall asleep. Yikes....
It is always after I have had carbs. Weird huh? It's what I do. It's crazy.
I contribute it to eating carbs.

Funny because I normally have a hard time sleeping through the night.
I don't have sleep apnea either.

My gosh, 4 years after gastric sleeve/ VSG surgery, I have finally found the PERFECT SHAKE!

by BarbaraParks on 05-16-2012 at 04:33 PM
I am so blown away.
First, I have tried every shake I could possibly get my hands on. YUCK! besides tasting like crap, they made me very gassy, bloated and gave me loose stool.
I was miserable. I stopped taking the shakes and vitamins because of how aweful I felt. ( I know, Bad girl )Then I was told about malabsorbtion. I was on a mission of great tasting shakes that were easy on my system.

Well I found them, If I could ever give you any advice about anything,
