Binge Eating

Yesterday I had my first consult with a private hospital re weight loss surgery. Gastric Sleeve is the option I have convinced myself will be the best for my personal circumstances, but my mum isn't too convinced, and my surgeon said they would need to communicate with my GP and Counsellor to work together to see if surgery is an option with Binge Eating Disorder, which I have had for about 5 years now.
Does anyone have any experience of surgery with this disorder?
