HI Cindy, The first week was pretty rough for me. I ended up at the emergency room with a 103 fever. My surgeon damaged my spleen during the surgery and they thought they might have to remove, so I ended up back in the hospital for 3 days. But by the second week I was feeling so much better. I have found this site to be wonderful. You are right, it lets me know that what I am going through is similar to many others. Especially with the stalls ~ they can be frustrating, but knowing that is part of the process helps me not to become discouraged. I am about 4 1/2 months out, and the last 3 - 4 weeks I am able to eat pretty much anything, but just very small quantities. Up until then, it was hit and miss. I was one of those people that vomited quite a bit. (Most people don't have that problem.) But new foods were very difficult for me. But now I feel pretty normal ~ just 60 pounds lighter! Expect to have moments when you wonder if you've done the right thing, and know that those feelings will pass. I am so so very happy I had this surgery, even with the problems I had in the beginning. It is life changing. Very best, and keep in touch! Let me know how you are doing!! -Cathy

Hi Cindy, I'm glad to hear from you! I wondered how you were doing. I'm doing pretty good, not drinking enough today but trying. I had a reaction to the antibiotic and have an ugly rash that we're treating with benedryl. I don't have much pain and am trying to walk as much as I can. I have to go back to work tomorrow and am not looking forward to that at all!
So how are you feeling? Any prpblems with protein or liquids? I can't wait until I can drink protien again. The broth is just yucky. Keep in touch, maybe we can meet up at a support group later.
