Hi I live in Warren, had my surgery at St. John Oakland hospital. Not my favorite hospital by any means, however, my surgery and stay there were surprisingly comfy an uneventful. I had my surgery 3/28 so I am about ten and a half weeks out. Down about 45 pounds so far. Im happy that its coming off a bit slower than I expected, hopefully that will help some with the skin issues so many people seem to have. How are you doing so far? I hope everything is well!!

Hi Lacraft! Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I have been so busy i was not on here. Yes i went through Dr. Pesta, he is an excellent surgeon! I am not sure yet if you had your surgery, but if so I hope you are recovering well. The 1st couple of months are tough because you are healing and getting used to your body adjusting to the new stomach. I know you are going to a different hospital than i did for your surgery which is a plus. Although the surgical team was great the Warren. MI hospital I was in was not, I am glad it is closed now. The main reason your stomach will be uncomfortable the 1st 2-3 months is because your new stomach is swollen from being changed, it gets easier. protein, protein, protein....very important! Calcium chews, vitamins and b12! You do not have to get a b12 shot, they have B12 5000 dissolving tablets at GNC (online or in the store) they go under the tongue. They taste great! I do not like shots or the cost or time of going in for one and this is so much easier! Once you get to the 3-4 month mark things will be easier. I am 8 months out now and I swim 3x a week. I have a 2 year old and so if you work or are like me a stay at home mom I know how it is challenging to keep on track. If you have any questions please contact me at my e-mail address I will PM you! Good luck to you!

Need help and encouragement!

by lacraft on 03-07-2013 at 09:13 AM
Had the sleeve in May 2012 between that time and the end of November 2012 I lost 80 lbs. Between November and now I fluctuate between a 3-5 lb. loss. While I know that 80 lbs in six months is great; I can't help but be discouraged with the weight loss since. I need to do something to jump start some more weight loss. I would love to loose another 40 pounds but can't seem to get anywhere these past 3 1/2 months.

Here I am, Onderland!!!!!

by lacraft on 08-20-2012 at 10:57 AM
Went in for the three month post-op today. Things are great. I have lost 57 pounds and am totally now in Onderland! Didn't realize how excited I would really be until it happened. I believe this is the first time in almost twenty years that I have been here; and here I will stay....no vacationing this time....I have moved to Onderland permanently. The population of Onderland has just increased, so move over fellow sleevers and make some room 'cuz I don't plan on leaving...Just moving further

Twelve Weeks Out - Scale and Non-scale Victories!

by lacraft on 08-14-2012 at 06:25 AM
I am officially twelve weeks post surgery today. I only weigh on Tuesday mornings so I don't drive myself crazy. I am down 55 pounds total. Just a smidge from Onderland! That will be a day for rejoicing!

I love non-scale victories just as much as what the scale says these days. My recent victories:
1) Went out the other day and bought a bike. I haven't ridden one in years, and years. My grandkids and I had a blast going on a bike ride! I even rode my bike in the

Very happy camper two months out.

by lacraft on 07-13-2012 at 02:07 PM
I have to say, I have seen the posts from people having a difficult time with the surgery. I pray for everyone who is suffering.

I am pleased to say that I have had a wonderful journey so far.

In two days it will be two months since the surgery. I am happy with my 43 pound weight loss. In two months I have gone from a size 22 to a size 18! I would never have expected that. I am thankful for
