    Hi Chris,
Wow, you sure have a lot of visitors to your page. You must either be rich, brilliant or incredibly funny. I'm a little brilliant and a little funny. Still hoping to move into the "no longer starving on Social Security" any day now. I'm retired, professional free lance writer. I haven't been sleeved yet, but it will be soon. Can't wait to learn move about you. This is my first day here.
  2. Hi ChrisJ I just read part of your journey and I love it, my name is Catheryn J and i sent you a friend request I hope you accept it I am 59 year's old and had my sleeve done on the 2-14-13 I was in one day out the next never in pain just sore, my only thing is I hate I hate I didn't get it done year's before, and what you say about food is so true; I really don't care much for food at all, I eat to live I no longer live to eat, and can't stand any thing sweet at all. God Bless you and every one on this site.
  3. *laughing* Chris, I AM disappearing! I need to update my photo again. I think I have lost 20 pounds since this photo was taken! It is so funny, when I am shopping for clothes and there are mirrors scattered about the store, I see this nice looking lady shopping near me out of the corner of my eye. Suddenly I am blown away because that lady is my reflection!

I hope you are doing well!

I agree that even without measuring, I seem to "feel right" at about 4-5 oz of regular food. I am eating few carbs and no breads, rice, pasta. I even tried Tofu Spaghetti (I know, disgusting sounding) but when you rinse it really well then "heat" it in a bowl of hot water, it takes on the flavor of whatever sauce you use. The tofu actually has no taste of its own and the texture is like angel hair pasta.

Hi Chris! I am glad to hear that your surgery went very well! I just returned from a 3-1/2 week vacation in Puerto Rico, so haven't been checking this website for a while. I have my one year follow up visit next week with Dr. Baker. I am at a weight that I have been able to maintain now for a few months. I feel really good. I have trouble getting all of my water in, and really need to work at it, because my blood pressure drops and I get dizzy. I am so glad I had the surgery. 2012 was one of the best years of my life! I can fit comfortably into any size 10s and some size 8s -- which is still hard for me to fathom. Enjoy every step of your journey these next twelve months, and keep me posted!

Hi Chris. Wow, ONE more day until your surgery...can you believe it's finally here! I haven't been on this site for a while, so sorry if there has been a delay in responding to your message. Please keep us posted on your progress, and best wishes for a smooth uncomplicated surgery and recovery. I am almost a year out from surgery now, and my advice to you as your start this journey is: take it one day at a time, and enjoy the journey to your ideal weight.

My mom has been awesomely supportive. Both my parents have & im so thankful for that. My grandmother is just generally miserable (i feel so bad for her), so its better to keep this from her until closer to the surgery. I actually wasnt gonna tell her until afterwards, but shes fussing about christmas dinner so my mom asked me to tell her soon. I guess the squeaky wheel gets the oil lol! ;-) i hope my grandmom will be supportive, and i know once the weight gets off she'll be happy. I think she'll fuss because shes worried about me having surgery. But all i can do is reassure her the best i can. Like you said, i'll be focusing on getting healthy!

Welp its true, im definitely disappointing people, lol! Christmas dinner is always at my house the sunday before christmas. That way family & friends can come & still do what they normally do on christmas. I cancelled this years dinner. My gmom is taking it the hardest, but thats because she doesnt know im having surgery. I wont tell her until a couple days before. She fusses a lot & it'll save everyones ears until then, lol! Ill have to try a peppermint shake! :-)
