Hi Stacy, this is Rena. How are you doing since you got home?
  3. the cats are covering the phoenix on my chest! tho one of the cats is named Phoenix.lololol.

All went very well. The only complaint is the neverending gas ball I still can't fully kick. That and the stairs...heavy people with bad knees and stairs just don't mix well. Other than that it was great. I had no pain at all, and had no issues with throwing up either. I'm 12 lbs down already, tho how much of that was the 80% of my stomach removal I can't be sure.

DR Almanza's staff is very efficient and caring, from the nurses to the drivers, they all take great care of you. If you have issues sleeping, as I do, I would recommend a room at the hotel. The club house is set up a lot like dorm rooms. lots of beds per room. I couldn't sleep for the 3 days I was in recovery and the club house. Once I moved to the hotel (4-star for $50 a night) I finally could sleep.

They do not give you narcotics, so if you think you need them and have them at home I would bring them. be sure to sip all day long. You must stay hydrated. once you leave recovery it is important you drink. But tiny sips. doesn't take much to fill 3oz of stomach space!

HI! I will be having my surgery the same day and with the same MD. Looking forward to meeting you. I think it looks like two cats on your chest, looks nothing like a phoenix to me (giggle)

Hi Stacy: I will be there at the same time as you but my surgery is the day before yours. I'm sure our paths will cross...
  11. Hi! Yes, we can journey together. I was originally supposed to be sleeved in April, but had to put it off for financial reasons. I'm very excited for you. Nice to know we're neighbors!!

Hi there, Good to hear from you and know that I can share with someone going through the process. I know Blaine very well used to live in Boundary Bay Canada and partied often in Blaine. I worked for a while in Pt. Roberts also. Lived very close to the boarder. I have had a lap band removed so I am familiar with the before and after of the surgery. The band worked for a while but is was uncomforable for me (not sure why) had it removed and started gaining right away. I was told that no one else had complained and I was left feeling like again a total failure. I have since found that I am not alone and it was not my failure and I will be dealing with them after all this is over. It was done at a private clinic in Toronto and not cheap by any means. I believe that the sleeve will be the answer as there is no internal hardware involved. I have not posted a picture, can't seem to get it accepted. Later and please keep in touch. Joanne
  13. Yes it is a Phoenix on my chest! The one on my back has not yet been colored. As soon as it is I will post it too.
