Hi Lorraine! I am getting back into the swing of things. Three kids didn't let me rest for long. lol. I am also learning not to eat to fast (boy isn't that miserable!) and what my stomach does and does not like. I have lost 38 lbs since the pre-op diet started and 19 just since surgery. I have hit the dreaded 3 week stall and I have not lost a single ounce in over a week. I am trying to not discouraged and I know that the weight loss will continue soon. My clothes are starting to get really baggy which is a great feeling. I am going to start zumba when I hit 6 six weeks out. Hope all is well with you.

Just noticed you'll be going down to see Dr Alvarez next week. I'm from Winnipeg, and also saw him. It was a fantastic experience, never once did I question my safety in his capable hands. Once you meet him, you'll see what I mean. He's very knowledgeable and he's a really caring doc. You're in great hands! Follow his post-op recommendations carefully and you should have no problems. If you are prone to nausea, I'd ask for something for the ride back to San Antonio, ie) Drammadine or something. He'll send you home with a bag full of goodies, including his book, which has been a very handy reference bible for me.

That little voice has been whispering in my ear as well. lol. I have had a lot of surgeries for my age and I have also had a cardiomyopathy so the surgery doesn't worry me... dying and my kids living without a mom is what keeps me up at night. Good Luck!

Hi 1onthemove. Are you getting nervous? My surgery is on 03/01 with Almanza. I am nervous... mostly about my kids but super excited. Lets get ourselves on that losers bench ASAP!
