Good luck today and congrats on your surgery!
  2. I love Anne! I am a practice manager for a cardiology office at Mercy and I have sat with Anne at several practice manager meetings! I am just so excited and so ready to get on with this. I went to my mandatory support group meeting tonight and it was a lot of fun. I plan on attending more post surgery. I am in "countdown" mode right now. I have 11 days until pre-op appointment and 34 days until surgery!!! Thank you for your encouraging words about your experience. It makes me feel much better!

Dr. Northup was a wonderful doctor!! Anne is my absolute favorite though - she has been such an encourgement to me over the past few months. The hospital stay was great, although they were super busy that day and since I was the last one in the recovery room and the hospital was low on rooms, I didn't get to my actual room until around 8pm or so. My surgery was at 1pm. My family didn't get to stay back with me, but they did get come for a few minutes. It made for a long day for everyone. Thankfully I just slept during that time so I was awake and talkative when I got to my room. I never got too nervous about it all, but more excitement that I actual was going through it! The nurses I had were wonderful and very helpful.

Not gonna lie, it was a little painful and I definitely recommend using the pain meds! No reason to be uncomfortable while you are there. I see a lot of people that say they had no pain, and I think it gives an unreasonable expectation for most people. It wasn't unbearable by any means, but just uncomfortable. Walking wasn't an issue for me, and I was glad to be up and moving. If you can have someone stay with you, that is best. My mom stayed with me and she was a lifesaver. She would get me more water to dip my sponge in and you really can't rely on nurses to do that for you.

I wish you the best and can't wait to here all about your experience! Feel free to contact me anytime!!!!

First of all I will start with the awesome report I got at the doctor today:

I am down 56 lbs and a total of 36 inches!!!! 21 of those inches are from my waist and hips alone! I am so excited!!!!! I really love my sleeve!

Now for the "adult" part.....
My husband and I got the surgery just 3 weeks apart. He has lost about 62 lbs so far (of course...damn men!!!!) anyways, I just have to say the sex is way better now that we are both smaller.

Almost to "ONE"DERLAND!!!!!!

by dweber04 on 06-04-2012 at 12:05 PM
Hi Everyone!

I have not posted in a while. It will be 8 weeks post op for me on Wednesday, 6/6/12 and I am almost at my first goal. That, of course, is to make it to "one"derland! I currently weigh 202 and started at 245. Overall I feel great and I can see the inches disappearing, even when the scale quits moving. I have gone down from a size 20 pants to a BAGGY size 16 and from a 3x shirt size to an xl. I have been exercising 5 days a week and I am finally at the

hello everyone!

I am 3 weeks post op (tomorrow) and I have managed to loose a total of 25 lbs. 11 lbs was pre-op and the other 14 lbs has been since surgery. I feel like the weight is not coming off like so many other people have had. I know, I know everyone is different but....it is still frustrating! I am doing exactly what I am supposed to do, I have not cheated one time, I walk almost every day (weather permitting)....I just don't know what else I can do to speed this up
