Nel, thanks for getting in contact. Sorry to hear about the hair loss that's a worry, that I'm sure you would rather do without. I haven't given that much thought post op, but it guess it varies from person to person. I had my psych appointment today. I am completely calm and reconciled for this operation now. It's a nice place to be and a nice change from the topsy turvy thinking one minute No Way, next minute Hell Yeah! It's been exhausting. Much was touched on that has helped strip away the last few concerns. 17kgs is a great loss - it weight you don't ever need to regain - ain't that a huge relief!! Good to be in touch and I hope you get your hair back soon, and continue you at a rate that makes you content. Cheers Jen
Hey there Nel. How's the continued weight loss going?
I love your avatar~very beautiful.
Hi Jen -- sorry for the slow response, wasn't able to see your message, some computer glitch. I'm doing well. Enjoying life. I got to wear a skirt I love today. Bought it two sizes too small, accepting that I could only do the zip half way up (I'd wear it with loose long blouses). Well, this morning, for the first time, the zip goes all the way up. What a pleasure. Well it's still a size 20 -- I have a long way to go. But I'm enjoying the journey. Warm wishes, Nel
Howdy Nel. How are things going for you just now? Cheers Jen
Hi Pip -- all's well. I'll write an update today. Very happy I did this. You?
Hey Nel how is everything tracking ? Hope all went well hugs
Thanks Sunflower. With whatever struggles come along, I am so glad I did this. For the first time in my life I can be around food and not feel the need to eat it all! There was some tasty looking Chinese in the supermarket a few days ago. I know I will eat something like it later, but it's a big change from pre-op, when I would have easily eaten one container full and wondered whether I needed to buy two. It's interesting to wonder who I am becoming. Could I seriously be one of those people who doesn't eat much? Well, I am one now but it's gonna take some getting used to! Warm wishes, Nel
Hi Nel, I'm so glad everything went well for you. My first few hours were pretty rough too! AFter that it just got better with each day. Keep resting and taking it easy. Your body's been through a lot! Many congratulations!
All the best to you today with your surgery, Nel!!! This is your moment. Enjoy the next big step in your fantastic journey!
Glad you liked my pic lol I couldn't resist sharing this on here because I figure it in its self is HUGE accomplishment LOL Thanks so much for all your great words I really appreciate that you take the time to have an interest in me
Thanks, Nel! I'm so glad your partner is going to do this with you. That's really wonderful that th etwo of you will be able to travel this journey together. Good luck on finding the right surgeon. As for your apprehension: all normal. You'll have the next few months to process some of the feelings and to get prepared for the changes ahead. It is a bit of an emotional roller coaster, but all good. I've got a good support system at home, so that helps a lot. It's by no means easy sailing every single day, but the benefits definitely outweigh any inconveniences or minor physical or emotional discomfort. I am so glad I did this. I've no doubt you will be too. Best of luck, and thank's for checking in!
Thank you, Bel. Yes it"s been quite a journey. How are you along?
So sorry I did not get back to you. We actually did not get to have our surgeries until 3-8-12. We did great and really did not need to be taken care of. We had our surgeries on a Thursday and my husband was back at work on Monday. It is so much easier having the surgery together. You eat the same things and totally understand everything the other is going thru. Hope all is well with you and keep me posted.
Surely to gain a half grade in the midst of major surgery and major life change is an amazing achievement?
