    Thanks for the welcome
  13. Well, I had my final nutrition visit last Thursday. This signals the end of all of the hoops the insurance company wants me to jump through. I know the Dr's office has received their report as of Monday. I have left a message for their insurance coordinator to call me back. Now it is just a waiting game. I would really like to have my surgery in March; I am keeping my fingers crossed.

I took my 4H group hunting this past weekend. It is always trips like this that remind me of how far out of control my weight has gotten. I don’t exercise at all, at this point, and this was a very physical weekend. At one point I am climbing into a deer blind that is about 15ft up in the air, straight up. The higher I got the weaker my arms became and I was afraid I would fall or not be able to make it in the blind door, because there was really not much to hold onto. I was two steps away and decided that I couldn’t go on. They ended up sending a chair down for me and I sat in the bushes in the wind and cold for 3 hours, while my daughter hunted with the guide. This was the lowest point in my battle with my weight so far. I never want to be embarrassed like this again.

Here's to keeping my head up and the doctor’s office writing their "magic letter" to the insurance company and getting this show on the road!

Tired and hungry

by MLUNCEF on 03-20-2012 at 07:17 PM
I am officially one week into my pre op diet. I am taking in 2 protein shakes with 30g protein each, 2 Greek yogurts, and a bowl of soup a day. I have also been taking in 2 snacks day of sugar free pudding. I have been tracking my calories at 800 a day. I added extra protein power to my water today thinking that could cure the tiredness I feel.

Today has been the worst though. I have been mentally hungry all day, so much so that I left work on a break and found myself in a drive

Looking forward

by MLUNCEF on 03-15-2012 at 12:13 PM
I have started my 2 week liquid diet. Being at work it’s easy not to crave foods and wander to the pantry and miss what I cannot have. But, being at home is a different story. I don’t think I am going to mourn food as much as miss the social interactions that come with it.

My surgery date is set for the 28th of this month. I had a pretty bad fall at work on Tuesday and my leg is bruised up and has a knot that is slowly going down. I had a sonogram done to make sure there were

One more nutrition visit/dieting question

by MLUNCEF on 01-17-2012 at 05:09 PM
Well, I had my last nutrition visit last Friday. I didnt gain any weight, so I must be doing something right. I have one more nutrition visit in Feburary and I will have met all of my prereq's and they can start the dance with the insrance company.

As I stated in my post last month, this is going to be a revision from the band (which was a failure) to the sleeve. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the tango between the doctors office and the insurance company will be graceful
