Just noticed you live in Clayton. I live in Vineland and had my sleeve on 12/26. I am feeling better every day and so glad I made this decision. I just have to remind myself to not over-do it then I feel really tired. It sounds like you are doing beautifully to be under 200...can't wait! Best of luck as you continue on your journey!
  3. I don't think we know each other. I live on w High st. I have an 8yo and a 2 yo. When I hit under 200 I felt like a complete new person! U will do great!

Thanks Tina! I'm looking forward to being under 200 pounds! I'm going to be 44 years old next month and I really let myself go through the years. So do we know each other? I live in Countryside development. My oldest daughter is 15 years old and attends GCIT for Culinary Arts and my youngest daughter is 11 years old and attends St. Michaels. I'm hoping my oldest can help me make some healthy recipes! lol.

HI!!! So happy to hear from you, you are doing AMAZING girl!!! I'm doing good myself, down 96.1 as of today (32 pre-op & 64 post-op). I'm do excited for you!!! You got through those early rough days & look at you now!!! Congrats!
  8. He told me to stop comparing myself to other, get out of this forum, I'm only one week out, I've lost 15lbs since surgery and 60 pre op so where is the problem? Told me to go work my program. I did ask about the bougie he tells me they no long use that method but what they do use would compare to a size 28 bougie, they use a blaloone type devise. He tells me I should be happy I can drink with no issues can eat without pain or any issues and I'm losing weight, so what's my problem? I left with a smile and stopped trolling for hours on this forum. I will check back after I'm on solid food but for now I agree with him it's best I work my program for me.

Also don't forget to SLEEP, rest.... you had major surgery and it's doctors orders that you get rest to recover!!

Diluted apple juice, buillon cubes (better broth, nice & salty), sugar free popsicles, decaf tea, figure out if your sleeve likes hot or cold... immediately post op mine loved hot/warm salty bouillon cubes the best, it wasn't a big fan of water (room temp, cold, etc). 14#!!! Wonderful!! Just remember your head is messing with you, it's confused, it hasn't realized yet that 75%+ of your stomach is gone and keeps thinking you should still be filling it up. Make sure you are getting at least 64oz of fluid in & it should help with the headache. Have you called the drs office to find out what you can take to help with the headache? Are you still taking pain meds? Try an ice pack to see if that helps with your headache.
  11. Im doing better today! I still feel soooo hungry. I did take zantc lastnight to help with acid. Im doing prety well with the liquid intaake. I do have major head ache that wont go away. I think so far so good.Just wish I ccould eat a little more than jello and bbroth! Plus side im don 14 lbs!

Oh no, how are you doing today??? You should ask about taking a acid reducer (have you ever had issues with reflux?) I never had but started taking zantac when I got home to help with the churning belly it helps cut down on the acid which in turn cuts down on the hunger feeling. Protein is not your priority, keep getting your fluids in & walk. Any issues with gas?
  13. I'm home now! Was released last night only to rind myself readmitted because I kept throwing up. I still feel hungry all the time! Lol I'm not even worried about protein rihtnow. Just trying to get fluids in! And vet rid of this horrible head ache!

Weight Gain

by Tina7402004 on 02-19-2014 at 05:24 PM
Hello everyone! It's been a while since I've been on here but I have been off track and came back for some reassurance and to be pointed back in the right direction. Next month will be 2 years since I've had my surgery. I have been slacking big time. I feel as though I wasted my time doing it because I find myself slipping back into old habits. I have gain almost 10 lbs back. I am so mad at myself. I do not eat the amount of protein I should be and obviously have not been exercising. I am afraid

1 week post op

by Tina7402004 on 04-04-2012 at 12:24 PM
Well, my journey started out a little ruff but it ended out great! Im excited and confused at the same time. I was told upon discharge to progress my diet as tolerated. I was a little confused because I was under the assumption I had to have pure liquid for a while then so on. As of right now I am able to drink fluid w no problem, eat w no problem, and don't have much pain. This sound to good to be true. I feel like I'm doing something wrong. I can eat eggs, I blended chicken noodle soup lastnight

Tomorrow is the day

by Tina7402004 on 03-27-2012 at 12:31 PM
Well tomorrow at 730am Ill be on my way into the OR! I am excited and petrified at the same time. I have never haad surgery before so its a little scary! I've packed my bags and hope I haven`t forgot anything I will need. I know food has been a very big comfort to me so I am afraid of how I am going to handle not being able to eat like I used to. My doc explaied to me that it is very common for people in my situation to have the same concerns because i am loosing my control for a little while .
