I couldn't let this day slip by without posting about my amazing journey over the past year!! I had my gastric sleeve surgery on the morning of April 25, 2012 in Birmingham, AL. My starting weight was 243.
I reached my goal weight of 155 in 36 weeks. My lowest weight was 148, and today I'm holding steady at 150. I went from a size 20 to a size 8...smaller than I was in high school!!
My experience overall has been awesome! Yes, I had some hair loss, but it's
I can't believe it's been 6 months since surgery! I'm thrilled to be so close to goal in such a short time! I feel great & I'm able to wear clothes I never thought possible. The weight loss has made such a difference in my life! I'm blessed & I love my sleeve!
I can't believe it's already been a month since my surgery! I've lost 25 lbs, but what really surprised me is the number of inches I've lost. My husband & I went to Belks in the mall yesterday, and for the first time in forever, I looked in the misses dept. A strange feeling came over me, like I was out of place or didn't belong there, but I think I'll get over that as my body becomes smaller!
I'm still having trouble getting all my liquids in...it just doesn't seem like
Today is the last day of clear liquids...Yay!! Tomorrow I begin full liquids for days 6-14. I'm still having some cramping after every few sips, and it makes it difficult to get in my liquids. I wonder how my new tummy will react to a protein shake or cream of chicken soup?
Also, I have always loved dessert and when I went to church last night guess what? There was a dessert social after church...I wasn't tempted at all!!!
I had surgery on Wednesday, April 25 at St. Vincent's East in Birmingham, AL. Today is my first day home and I feel pretty good. I'm having trouble with my clear liquids...tummy cramping & such. The pain is not unbearable and I'm sure it will get better soon. I'm so glad my husband is off work this week, he has been such an encouragement to me!
