That's great! I was first up Monday morning and was discharged Wednesday. He gave me the option of leaving Tuesday, but I felt a little uncomfortable with a little nausea. Never did throw up or anything. Thursday afternoon was the last time I took the pain meds and that was for a headache. Never used the nausea meds at home. At this point, 6 days out, I can't even tell anything was done! My follow up is Tuesday and I can't wait to be released to drive! Take care

I would highly recommend First Street Hospital in Bellaire if you are going with Dr. Mirza. It is a small hospital that does bariatrics, ortho, and plastics. The floor has like 19 beds or so...only about 5 were taken when I was there. I am so glad they scheduled me there by mistake. You didn't hear tons of activity at the nurses station or on the floor, it was quiet, the nurses were very attentive since the patient load was small, and everyone was so nice. Everything went really well. The only pain I had was from the hernia repair and trying to get the surgical gas out. Walking helps a lot and each day gets better and better. I cannot believe they will not release your records. Guess they are trying to stall you , hoping you will give up, and just stick with them or something. My partner went to see dr mirza yesterday so it looks like we are both moving forward. We will probably wait a few months in between so we can take care of each other. I had a cardiologist visit yesterday and he was so negative about the surgery unlike my pcp. I'm thinking it's because he will lose me as a patient because this will most likely take me off blood pressure meds. He actually said to me "have you tried to diet?". Like my whole life has been a struggle you idiot. I won't be going back there at all! Hopefully your records will get to dr mirza ASAP!

So glad to hear that! I'm in the waiting game for approval. I hope it doesn't take to long and can do it this summer. We have Aetna and a friend using the same employee insurance had a 3 month wait for the lap band...with True Results! That should put me about August. Are you having any other consults?

Hi! The two things that I found were key for me to get in all that I need is that 1) I drink a 20 oz protein shake while I am at work. I use either Muscle Milk or Shakeology with an additional scoop of Isopure unflavored protein powder-I mix them with 2 tablespoons Greek yogurt and 2 tablespoons of Peanut butter. Its super thick, filling and has about 50+ grams of protein. Then for lunch I eat a protein and a veggie (my servings are crazy small). 2)For fluids, my protein shake is 20 oz, then if I'm not drinking that, I will have a bottle of water with me as I run around. At the end of the night I have a 12 oz cup of hot tea. It puts me close to 64 ounces per night.
