Alright! So do you have a six-pack now? :-) Did they tighten up the ab muscles or was it just the skin they worked on?

I don't think I'll be able to do any sort of plastics for a couple of years -- the finances just aren't there, and, hopefully, my wife will be doing the sleeve sometime in the next 6-12 months; she's still waiting to hear back from Kaiser on what she needs to do to start the process up again. She had already gone through the Options classes, but I think she'll have to do them again. And when we have the money for it, she'll probably need the plastics more than I do. For me it is just the front between the waist and the shoulders (well, maybe the neck too). For her it will be legs & arms & boobs & belly & neck just because of how much more the fat gets distributed around a female's body than a male's.

Congrats on the weight loss, I am sure it has been hard work. You look great!

I just read about you having a 15 year old daughter and she was not liking the idea of you being smaller than her. I also have a 15 year old who has said the same thing to me. So I was wondering how your daughter is feeling about the surgery and you after it almost being a year after the surgery.

Lol..As far as my tattoos, nothing has shifted or looks crooked mainly because where there are placed I guess..I don't have any on my ankle
I have a couple guys that I get all my tattoo work done that do amazing work so if you need any work to fix that crooked piece, hit me up..
As far as the surgery goes, I'm just glad I didn't have to come out of pocket for the procedure. On this forum, I see tons of people having to come out of pocket and or are heading to Mexico for the surgery. Anything can happen during surgery no matter where you live so I guess I don't really look at Mexico as being a last resort now. I guess it shows the great lengths of people that will do whatever they possibly can do for a healthier lifestyle...

Hey there Stephanie!! Like yourself, I completed my Options class at Kaiser and was set up with Dr.Chin in which works through Kaiser but performs his surgeries at St. Bernardines. The staff there took really great care for me and I was out of the hospital on my second day. Would've been only a 1 day stay but i had the hiccups really bad for some reason. All in all from beginning of classes to my surgery was approx 9 months and don't regret a thing.
As far as music, I play anything ranging from Old School, R&B, Funk, Latin,Smooth Jazz etc.I play for " Sacrifice" and " Midnight Sol" but have shared the stage with some greats such as Brenton Wood, gigged with Davey Chavez of Malo, Tierra, The Midnighters etc. Pomona isn't far at all so you may have heard of my bands before. If not, you gotta come to a show and dance.

Love the new profile pic!!! Thank you! Some days it still feels like I have so far to go! But I can't complain, 40 lbs in 3 months! I'll take it. Just broke a week long stall, happy to see the scale moving downward again. I hear ya, the holidays are always crazy! I am feeling great, back to me. It is nice being able to eat anything (just less) I feel normal now. The first 8 weeks was a challenge (liquid, puree, soft...) Keep up the good work, goal is right around the corner for you

Should I feel guilty because I will be slimmer then my teenage daughter?

by Stephy on 11-11-2011 at 05:50 PM
I am so looking forward to having my surgery, which seems so far away because I just started my 12 week class that my ins requires for the surgery. So far, my immediate family is excited and happy that I am going to have the surgery..except for my 15 y/o daughter. She is a beautiful girl...and also on the chubby side. We usually can wear the same size in blouses, so that is a downer for her (who wants to fit into their mom's clothes). So now, she is bummed that I will probaly be smaller then her
