Saw your b/a photos! You have rocked this! Congratulations!

Yes, I tried the turkey meatloaf, but I'm not sure I seasoned it quite enough. Will try again later this summer.

I'm now down a total 78 lbs, 73 post-op, and still loosing slow but steady! Woo hoo! I've bought a pair of 16 jeans and capris, but those are getting loose. Tried on some 14's, buy not quite there. I'm starting to think my doc was right, that I'd get to size 10 by my 1 yr anniversary.

I'm also thinking about doing C25k, and maybe doing a 5k this fall. That's a crazy thought, lol. Still working with my PT, but told him this is my last set of 20 sessions per my wallet. I'll do a once a year maintenance with him, but I can't afford to keep up PT constantly. I should be able to do the strength training on my own now, as long as I have a good plan. Are you still using your PT?

Hey Beth, how is it going with your trainer? I'm curious to hear your experiences. I'm my trainer's first WLS client, so he relies on my feedback a lot. With work so stressful, I've been very tired, so I went back to my nutritionist. She said to pick up on the carbs, esp from fruit. She wasn't concerned so much with veggies as long as I was taking a good fiber supplement. I'm still having problems upping my calorie intake to above 700 before workout, and she wants me at 800-1000. I can get there if I eat 4 meals + 1 snack per day, I think.

The omlet was fantastic. I never thought I'd like the turkey sausage, but it was fine. I also talked to my nutritionist about recipies. She suggested a turkey meatloaf, but add lots of flavorful things like green peppers, onions, etc, then add beef bullion (scoopable stuff). The ground turkey takes on the flavors well. I'm going to try that this weekend and will let you know how it works out.

This thing said my message was too long... sounds just like me... babbling away. I cut a paragraph out regarding sugar/foods:

I haven't tried real sugar on anything, but I did coat some strawberries with stevia. I only used about 2 tsp on a small container of sliced strawberries, and it was great! I am more of a fruit eater than veggies... just my history. Time is now to add more veggies to my diet permanently. I still haven't tried egg beaters, but I did make an omlette this morning with turkey sausage, onion, and peppers, and a sprinkle of cheese. Before I would have rolled it up in a tortilla with more cheese, but I was good!

    Have a nice Sunday!

I'll try the peppers and cucumbers with dip or dressing. My sister eats them like candy, lol. Thank you for reminding me about that. I've got the peppers in the fridge, but will have to pick up cukes when I pick up milk tomorrow.

I am doing fairly well with proteins and water. I stick to bottled water for convenience, but tried one of those water filter pitchers. I hated it. In order to fit it into your fridge, the size means you have to refill & refilter multiple times in one day. I don't have time for that, lol.

I got teary eyed this morning at my Sunday weigh-in on my Wii. I use this for my official measuring since I can control the day and time. I have lost a total 51 lbs! So I am not really unhappy with my weight loss, I just know that I could have lost more had I stuck to the plan better. March will be better.

I would LOVE a walking partner! And a fitness partner! I love going to the gym! I have a personal trainer I use 2x's per week for strength training. He's expensive, but I figure worth the cost for the 1st 6 months. By 6 months, I should be able to go in and do my own strength training, with maybe refreshers with the trainer every 6 months or so. I also have a goal to go in at least 3 more times per week for aerobics. Mostly treadmill and elliptical, but I'm hoping to add some classes once I hit onederland.

Thank you Beth, you've been wonderful for my soul this week. You have done such an awesome job yourself and are an inspiration to me.

No problems with foods at all, although sometimes my first try at something sends me running to the bathroom. LOL. That is happening less and less though. I grazed on nuts, plain, salted, coated with toffee, etc, or whatever would fit in the palm of my hand for a quick food fix. And, as bad as I was, I picked up a box of crackers (cheeze nips), grazed on them some, but threw them out two days later. Really bad, right? I was disgusted with myself. I do have an appt with a psychologist later this month, and going back to the nutritionist for some meal choices, etc.

It sounds like you are doing well with foods, too. I think this is the norm rather than the exception. I, for one, am glad I am not one of those who constantly have issues with food like you hear on these forums. I think I will try your quick omlette recipe... I haven't tried egg beaters. Do they have the same protein as an egg? I'm doing well on protein, averaging around 60, sometimes more, sometimes less, but within 5 either way. Doc says 60g per day. I do wind up with one shake each day, but avoid the drinks. Doc says the drinks will slow your weight loss. How are you doing with your proteins?

Great weight loss! I've lost 47, only 10 in February. I have a goal to be down another 40 by my May dr appointment. That's 4 lbs per week for 10 weeks. O_O Wish me luck!

    Mmm.... frozen yogert....

Hi Beth! Everything is going ok. Surgery wise, I am problem free. Feb has been a tough month with work (auditors auditors auditors), so it was hard to stick to the program. I've only lost about 6 lbs. :-( I wasn't working out except the 2 days/week with my trainer, basically not doing any aerobics. Then I realized I was grazing! Ugh. What a way to sabotoge myself. But I'm getting back on track. I have a goal for aerobic work 3 x's per week and weight training 2 x's with the trainer. And NO GRAZING!

I actually hate cooking. Working on that too. LOL. It's hard to cook for one when you can only eat less than a cup at a time. I'm making a March appointment with a psychologist. Maybe I need to see the nutritionist, too. :-)

How are you doing? Everything still on track? No problems? Foods doing okay for you?

Yay! Sounds like you are on the right path! Good job on the weight loss! I am constantly amazed at how little fills me up, and how little I crave food anymore.

Yes, those are the same things I am eating although my doc had me wait a week before introducing chicken and turkey. I do have a hard time swallowing the drier meats since no drinking while eating. Tonight I had a half of a cheese enchilada with chili gravy. It was delish! I do have to watch the tastier foods and make sure I don't eat too much. Even one bite too much is hard to handle. I've done it a couple of times where I felt stuffed... and then get mad at myself for that extra bite. But I'm still losing. The frozen fruit shake was very tasty! I used a frozen strawberry & banana with vanilla unjury & 1% milk. My doc wants me to make double milk by adding powdered milk to my 1% milk. He says it adds protein. I'm still thinking on that one, lol.

How are you on getting your proteins in? So far, most days I make it, but a few I do not.

I did start at the fitness club this week, and hired a personal trainer to get me going. Doc says no more than 20lbs lifting, but we have not gotten close to that yet. I know nothing about working out, and my trainer has been super. I see him 2x per week, then do interval aerobics 3x per week (at least that is the plan, I'm only on day 3).

PS I had my first NSV! I am now able to wear a favorite ring that I have not been able to wear for years.

Post Op went very well. Doc put me on soft foods, chicken next week, which will be Tuesday. I'm excited over getting to chew, even it if is not all that chewable. I seem to be doing well on nearly everything I eat, although the first day, I was running to the bathroom about an hour after each meal!

Posole stew is a spicy Mexican hominy stew with all kinds of veggies, hominy, and chicken made from a weight watchers recipe. It was sooooo goooood!!!!! I can't wait to unfreeze my leftovers.

I'm still not feeling too much in the way of hunger, but I get cravings. As I sit watching TV at night, I find my self getting up and wandering into the kitchen to find some munchies. Of course there is really nothing I can eat other than what I am eating for meals. No cheating yet. LOL. I'm getting ready to make my first shake with frozen fruit. I'll let you know how it goes.

Good luck on your post op this week. Let me know how you do. :-)

Me, too! I'd like to skip right too it! I'm still on clears. I have my first post op tomorrow. I'm doing good on fluids, hitting 58-63 per day so far. Not so much on proteins. Nutritionist said not to worry so much about it in the first week, just get those fluids in. I'm feeling hunger, too, but it goes away easily with a swallow or two of anything. So really, I'm not sure it is hunger. I'm scheduled in January for counseling on my food addition. Hopefully we can solve my head hunger before it does me in!

Glad to hear you are doing well. Your attitude is great! The holidays were fantastic, outside of my family having a Mexican theme for Christmas dinner. Ack! My fave. Those meanies. I actually have Christmas dinner frozen in my freezer waiting until I can eat it. I did get strained posole stew for my broth! What a tasty treat that was! YUM!

Hi Beth! I am doing very well this Christmas morning. How are you doing?

Every day does get better! I am so excited for the next few months. I am ready for something other than clears, that's for sure! But no hunger, no nothing outside of 'eating' my 4 1/2 cups of jello and broth per day. I am not doing so well at fluids though. I need to work on sipping more. Holy cow, that's a lot of sipping! I got to have some strained posole stew as my broth last night, and will do again today. Nice change from plain beef and chicken.

Here's hoping your Christmas day is joyful and filled with love.
