You're a star! I'm so pleased to see how much you have worked away and how much fun you're having. I would love to do a martial art, but was always inhibited by my size. Thanks for the inspiration.
It is a lovely thing to please your parents by becoming a healthy weight isn't it. I know mine will be thrilled.
    Stay well,
    Nel

Your experience reminded me of what happened a year ago when I had my band removed. I admit I had to to go through the same again just before the sleeve in Feb, but this time I was prepared!
I want you to picture this-I have to go in for surgery, but because of a public holiday I am having a few tests the morning just before surgery. So here I am all prepped with just a gown on(nothing else) and the nurse says-right, you have to have an echo, blab blab blah, that I don't quite understand(This is happening in an Indian private hospital). So I don my dressing gown to cover my flapping rear that may sneak out and go down for the tests-echo, lung capacity, ecg-you get the picture. BUT then she says, now for the stress test. I go into this room with a tread mill. Now let me remind you I am naked underneath-no bra, no knickers and no shoes! The guy takes my blood pressure and I explain that I am already stressed at the thought of being naked. He then attaches all the electrodes and starts me on the test. I don't think I need to conjure much of a picture-flip flop flip flop ( and that was only walking). The technician was incredibly sweet as if he was used to seeing naked bodies on this test but I was hugely embarrassed. If I had known I would have slipped on underwear at least. I made it through and laugh like hell about it now, but at the time!!! I just thought I would share so you could have a giggle. B

Hi Lynda, just checking in on you to see how your going? Good to see your up and about and so glad you've taken such a good break from work after all that you've been through. Take Care, Sharon

Oh wow Lynda- that was rough! Ending up in ICU was not a great start to your post-op recovery.
I hope you're taking a good amount of time off work to recover. It doesn't sound like you need the pressures of work on you at this time.
I'm sure the swelling is quite normal and will settle down soon enough.
I'm interested in finding out about what happens during and after surgery- but might know more after the information seminar next week.
Quite a few people on this forum have mentioned having to keep a 'drain' in for a while after. I have no idea what they are talking about. Do you?

Hi Lynda- how are you going? It must be six days post-op now... did it all go okay? Are you coping? I hope you've got someone to help you out for a while. take care, Lou

So glad you're feeling better. I cannot imagine how scary it must have been for you to know you had stopped breathing. I am feeling much better today. Had my drain removed and did my barium swallow test, and all was good. My mother and I are now back in the hotel, which is much more comfortable than the hospital. We will be here for two more nights before flying home. Continue to rest and get well.

Hi Lynda, I had the roughest night last night. I thought I was going to go insane with the gas pain, but this morning is so much better. How are you?
