They are what Dr. Kim recommends but I order mine online through Amazon. The multi I've had orange and vanilla. Both are good but I like vanilla best. I LOVE the cinnamon flavor calcium. It's like a little treat 3 times a day. I also take their B vitamins which is a little tablet you let disolve under your tongue.

Hi there. I was thinking of you and meant to reach out. I just read your post below regarding the shakes. Just to let you know, I started on real food almost immediately. Always weighed 1-2 ounces and cut in very small pieces. I ate all protein--cottage cheese, scrambled eggs with cheese, chicken and meat cut in small pieces. I was able to tolerate anything almost immediately--no nausea and no vomiting. I felt a bit guilty because I knew it was not protocol, however, I had to do what made my body feel best. I had lots more energy and focus and still do. My mental hunger is still there and I also feel the urge to grab anything at times. I can eat prior foods but only do so seldomly--however I write down everything I eat and allow 4-5 hours between meals. I try not to take the antacid because it interferes with calcium absorption, however sometimes I just need it. Extra acid will mask as hunger pangs when you have just eaten. Taking a pepcid can really help. I also need to start my activities!!! I'm losing on average 2-3 pounds a week at an average daily calorie intake of 1100. It is not "fast" weight loss but consistent which I believe is better. I thought that this surgery would solve my eating issues completely. However now realize it is just another tool, albeit a solid tool, that I have to consciously be aware of and make the decision to use every day.
  3. I am doing what you did and dont think they should have advised me to bring 200 dollars to purchase there shakes. I opened the vanilla took one scoop for a shake and never went back. The other chocolate one I sold to a girl at work who had gastric bypass a yr ago, one I used and I guess the vanilla one will just go to waste. I feel the same wanting to grab anything and put it into my mouth.. I am now doing poached eggs, cottage cheese, basically soft foods and will resume with the diet until the next phase begins.. Thanks so much I really appreciate it. I felt I was failing or falling into the old pattern of giving up. Again thanks for the good advise.

I couldn't really tolerate the shakes either and to be honest, I started with soft or pureed food earlier than was recommended. I hated the shakes, so I felt myself wanting to grab anything and put it in my mouth. Once I ate some 'real' food (tuna, yogurt, pudding with soy protein added), then I felt loads better. I was just really careful not to overdo it, and no hard food. I'm not saying cheat, Just letting you know what worked for me. Good luck and keep me posted! Also, when I felt hungry, I ate a couple tums..the acid in your stomach can make you feel like that.

So glad you are feeling better. Make sure you take it easy. I messed up and did too much too fast. Then I was down a whole other week.

I did the same thing, and all I can say is do the best you can with it. I hated the pre-op with a passion, BUT I'm glad now I beared through it. It kinda prepared my mind for eating smaller portions, and I lost 20 pounds. It was pure torture however there is a huge light at the end of the tunnel! Once you have the sleeve, you won't be hungry...I hated being hungry. Good luck, and like I said, just do the best you can. I ended up getting the Premier protein shakes from Sams, they tasted WAY better...just FYI.
  10. I am sorry that your having such problems with the band I will say that the sleeve is wonderful so far. Yes I had pain post op. Not going to lie. It was managed and now I am home recovering So far so good I am just trying different things to see what works for me and what I need to get down.

Surgery went great! Other than the waiting game on DOS. I understand Dr. Kim also treated a hernia I didn't know I had. Nice of him I think. We'll see how that pans out on the $$ side. Recovery was good. I just posted a new thread for my update.
  14. GOT MY DATE AND I AM ON MY WAY, 12/28/11. FEEL CONFIDENT ABOUT THE HOSPITAL THAT I AM GOING TO IN DALLAS, IT IS A BARIATRIC HOSPITAL CALLED FOREST PARK MEDICAL AND THEY SPECALIZE IN THIS AREA. 15. My surgery is set for 12/28/11, I am a bit nervous this is not my first surgery. Unfortunately I no the routine and dread the whole situation. I no that I am headed in the right direction it just getting thru the first few weeks.. The pre op diet, if it doesnt taste good to me then I dread it. Its like medicine. Im probably way too much..
