Dr. Almanzas clinic is very small and during the time I was there it was extremely packed. The day I had my surgery I was number 3 out of 14 and yes it is true that he does anywhere between 12 to 15 surgeries a day "at least thats how many he did while I was there" I also had 2 full days of recovery at the clinic too which was cramped but comfortable. The hotel Ticuan is where you would stay for the rest of the time and it was very nice maybe a 4star in US standards BUT THE BIGGEST COMPLAINT of my whole experience really comes back to the hotel. It sits on top of a night club and it also backs up to another night club which both are very loud all night long. Tijuana is a party town and the clubs blast music till 6:00 a.m. EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK. I really had a difficult time resting at the hotel for the two days I was there, if you decide to go remember to bring a good set of ear plugs, that would had really helped me if I had been warned. Other than that for the cost that he charges you cant go wrong.

almanza is totally not a scam, you get excellent top notch care, better than here, I think, and he has many many staff members who all know their jobs well, and you will not be in need of anything. My sleeve was performed last week and I am very very happy with everything, I went alone. Many people had spouses or parents, and they did not have anything to do but sit around the hotel the entire time, but it does give you peace of mind. I was glad to go alone, I even had my own hotel room paid by almanza for 4 days, so it was very quiet resting, but usually you have a buddy in your room, full time nurse at hospital attends to all your needs. I got a pain, nausea, and cipro shots at the hotel every day and they changed bandages, brought all the foody items to our rooms, it was really really nice. I physicians assistant was in our group getting sleeved, and she said she checked it out in detail and the surgery procedures are exactly as in the US. Be sure to follow all instructions given to you and you will be fine.

Hey thanks for the quick reply. I have only told like two people that I am doing this. I don't want to feel the negative talk about going to Mexico. I've also done a ton of research on this site and other sites including videos on YouTube. That would be really neat to know someone before I go and get it done at the same time. I am using my student loan plus my income tax return to pay for this so I have to wait until around feb. to schedule. I am hoping for the beginning of June though. Let me know when you decide to go. I'm from Louisiana and with our hot summers I don't think it could be much worse in Mexico during the summer lol. Plus I'll be out of school for two months. I do not blame you, I think I'd donate almost any organ to have this surgery haha! So tired of being a fatty. Anyways, I'm glad to hear from you we should definitely stay in contact

I am also considering surgery this coming summer as well. I have read a ton of blogs and alot of forums on this website about him. He seems to be very well liked. I dont think is a scam I was told by one person they paid their balance the day they arrived. SO i was going to see if i could do that and just pay the scheduling fee of 500 first. 500 vs 5000 isnt so bad. Even tho i wouldnt want to lose that either. The only complications i have seen a couple of is infected incisions but all admitted to not caring for it properly. I have a friend who is horrified that I am going to go to mexico and my son said they may take other body parts. I told him at this point.. Id gladly give a kidney to be skinny again.hahaha.. he didnt think was so funny. Anyway keep in touch maybe we will be there at the same time. I have to wait for my husband to go to afghanistan to be able to do it. He knows it but I dont want him to see me til he returns in a yr. SURPRISE!
