  1. Hi I am a fellow sleever from Agassiz.
Would love to compare stories and have an accountability person.
Praying you are able to get back on track.
    God Bless!

  2. WEll, here I am 3 years in and I've regained from a low of 142 lbs. up to 177lbs. Mainly all of my bad eating habits have come back...to say it another way, I've resumed bad eating habits...first I got sloppy, then I got more sloppy, then I got stressed and actually started binging a little...things like buttered popcorn and candy are easy to ingest, and drinking with meals allows more to go in. UGH!

now what do I do? Courting idea of dieting but also idea of going back to what the surgeon prescribed...that seems sensible and can get a grip on the weightloss that way.
  3. I'm 50 since last July, by the way. Had face lift, brow lift, eyes, lip silicone, nose refined, acid peel not to mention body lift, breast lift, arms done, inner thigh lift, back lift.
  4. Down 110 lbs....had all kinds of plastic surgery in August 2012 in Costa Rica...see my blog "pconradpebbles"
  5. Okay...so I'm down 3 more pounds since Dec. 21 which is almost 4 weeks...crap! I feel slimmer, oddly enough, but the scale seems to be stalling. Okay, I confess I nibbled a few naughty things over the past few weeks: popcorn, peanuts, chocolates and rationalize it all because the quantity is sooo much less than prior but still stalls the weight loss. I've also been very tired and avoiding exercising so...hmmmm.

On the plus side, I haven't been this slim in forever. I'm nearly size 12 pants so trying to be positive.
  6. Yeah - 179 lbs....It seems like forever but only actually 11 weeks. A really great feeling is that I have so much more energy...made all my gifts this year (sewed 2 pajamas, lined shirt, 2 duvet covers, 2 stuffed animals, and scarfs)...it's crazy to think I would have this energy, both physically and mentally. It's a little tough financially with having to get clothes...I'm almost out of pants (spent $$ on new pants only a couple of weeks ago) but I won't complain. It's a good thing I love second hand stores. I definitely have my 'moments'...been binging on low cal popsicles...not a lot of calories but I recognize the behavior. Also had 4 chocolates in a row yesterday and felt really ill for hours. The sleeve definitely spoils any attempts to overeat which is good, of course.
  7. I no longer sweat much with average activity (problem before), can look down and see my feet and crotch (lol), and can reach much of my back to scratch it. With bending over, I can do it easily and raise my foot up to my thigh to look and my sole. I can fit sweaters under my jackets and do them up (panic before when my winter jacket wouldn't do up XL). I'm looking forward to my ski boots buckling up properly around my ankles/calves. I'm 187 lbs. and looking fondly towards the 170's.
  8. I'm officially 30 lbs. lighter 7 weeks post surgery. I'm losing weight steadily and try not to weight myself too much. I try to walk 2 miles per day with little walks around the block with my dog. I just reorganized my clothes and got rid of some mediocur clothing that I'll never wear again. I have to stop spending money on clothes until I'm lighter. I have almost passed the size 14s...first the really stretchy ones fit and now they all fit, included fitted waistbands without stretch. Even some dress shoes feel a little more roomy. I'm very pleased that my face has slimmed down so quickly. I'm actually excited to dress up for my christmas parties in one wk/2 wks. I will begin the gym at work next week (8 weeks) gently, doctor recommended no abs for 5 or 6 weeks so I can gently resume them. I've started to spontaneously run stretches during my walks which feels invigorating. I'm not eating much, mostly my two protein shakes per day (520 cals;60 g protein w the skim mild) and then nibble a little here and there at meal times). I have little interest in food and eating, which is good, as long as I don't starve myself. I heard that after two months, some people begin to loose their hair and I have fine hair so can't afford to lose any.
  9. Yea - Down officially 25 lbs. and just into my second month. I've been quite disorganized about eating vs. just drinking protein shakes. It seems less hassle just to have the 520 cals. of protein shakes and the occasional bite or two of food. I have two weeks off so I'm going to devote time to working out a better routine to follow (I'm losing great, probably eating/drinking about 700-800 cals. but want to start eating more protein as in 3 meals a day). One thing I've definitely noticed is that when I do eat, I eat way too fast (watching tv or something) and quickly go beyond full and feel awful (I can eat max 1/2 banana, 1/2 small beef patty, 1/2 very small pizza piece with minimal toppings). I can begin to do abdominal exercises now, gradually increasing intensity. Overall, I'm estatic with my weight loss - no more sweating, puffing with stairs.
  10. Hi All: I'm down approximately 22 lbs. and soooo excited. The clothes I thought I'd get alot of wear out of are already getting loose...I've got some leggings/jeggings that I can wear with long sweaters to prolong not having to buy another size smaller right away...seems like I just bought a few things and now getting loose. It's exciting but have to be careful not to buy much in each size as I go down....I'm giddy!
  11. now I feel the losing has begun, mid third week or beg of forth week.
  12. Hi: day 4 post op...guideline from surgeon says 4 week liquid protein diet. I have had creamed soup for lunch in a restaurant (ate maybe an oz or two) and gummed/chewed 2 tiny corners of my husband's monte cristo sandwich (kindof soggy eggy toasted). This was so that I could feel part of the dining out a little bit as I've been away from home since Sunday, 2nd (6 days). Overall, it's been easy drinking 3 oz protein shake each hour...easy to forget too, and easy to forget to sip water...seems like a lot of attention to what my intake is but that's necessary. This morning, I had a wee bit of yogurt and wee bit of oatmeal at the restraurant...you could hardly tell I'd ate any but felt full.

Goal is to stay hydrated, have 60 - 100 g protein, and go easy on the stomach with fluids.

BTW - my weight went back up to 217 from 207 after surgery due to fluid retention, swelling etc. I have no idea what I weigh now but not focussed on that.

Still hard to believe I'll really lose the weight after all these years...getting below 200 lbs. is super special, getting below 180 something is also meaningful in its way. I got married at 150, after starving myself ....anyway, no mor
    e nonsense.
  13. I'm two days post op and feel really good....everything's as it should be...I can walk without feeling all shaky...only a short walk like 5 minutes to the nearest grass for my doggie. I'm on a liquid narcotic so it makes me feel sleepy. Now I need to make sure I get in enough protein. Thanks for all your wishes and greetings!

down 53 lbs. and sooo happy

by pconrad on 03-04-2012 at 01:22 PM
Hi Folks: I haven't been posting much lately because it is almost like I'm not focussed on the 'diet' and 'weight loss' issues anymore and busy doing other things. I have lost 53lbs. in about 5 months...may not seem fast but considering I've been free of obsessing about food and not really any hardcore exercise, it's good. I wanted relief from constant thinking about food and my weight. I've gone from 217 to 164 lbs. and down from my top weight of 249 lbs. (lost some on Jenny Craig before decision
