Did you ever do that sclero therapy that you talked about? You said it's injected to reshrink your sleeve? Did it work?

Rylynn, thanks for the information I appreciate it. Hope the losing picks up for you again.

I'm told it's a matter of fasting (no food or water) for 4 hrs, then you sit still and breathe into a tube for 10 min. It measures heart rate and breathing and the co2/O2 in your breath to calculate how many calories you burn at rest. Then from there they figure it into a day. Lets say I have a BMR of 1600 (I wish), then I'd have to eat 1100 cal a day to lose 1 lb a week. Since my resting pulse is 50 and my bp is 105/55 I expect my BMR to be about 1300 at most. Silly dietician told me I should be eating 1200 cal a day. Well I tried it for a week and gained 3 lbs...grr....
I hope this machine knows how to figure in hypothyroidism, or maybe it will figure in with my stats being so low anyway.
I think most insurances cover a nutritionist visit, and I think you'd have to go there or maybe to a physical therapist's office for this test. Not likely the reg doc would have the machine....The other place I can think of is maybe a good gym nearby? I'll post how it comes out....

Sugar is the big no-no, and seems to do alot more damage to our bodies than we give it credit for.
The low fat foods, according to David's research, don't trip the hormone that tells you you've had enough food, so you keep eating, same, I guess for low carb foods as well.
The artificial sweeteners, mostly get converted to cortisol by the liver, which is a hormone that stores in your tummy and results in belly fat!
David's opinion of exercise is that if you are doing it to lose weight then you are wasting your time: all it will do is make you hungrier. However, he does add that if you want to do it for general fitness and wellbeing, then this is a good thing.
I read about the supplements, but should read it over, as it didn't really sink in, other than many of what I took pre-op weren't much good in the long run.

    Thanks!
I was going nowhere with my weight a while back, and the doctors were concerned, as they say the biggest & best loss is in the first year. I then read David Gillespie's book called "The Sweet Poison Quit Plan", his 2nd book, where he gave tips on how to cut sugar out of the diet (as much as is humanly possible). I'm lazy, and don't do his recipes, but it did help my weight shift a bit more. In his 3rd book, "Big, Fat, Lies", he blows the whistle on low fat foods, artificial sweeteners, the diet industry and supplements. I still take the supplements, but have switched to full fat foods, and the only sweetener I have is a stevia tablet in my coffee. That saw a bit more of a drop...think that may have been what has helped with this recent loss, as I have been home on school hols for 2 wks and have steered clear of outside temptations, except for coffee. Live on sushi when I eat at the mall, only 1 though. Sometimes, too, I think your body just wants time out to take in all the hard work that it's done: rearm and regroup, that kinda thing. If you can get a hold of David's book tho, that would be a good place to start I think....bet I'm gonna run out of room again! LOL

I have also been applying for jobs at schools closer to home, and my desire to want to work closer to home is now finding me becoming dissatisfied with where I am. It takes an hour each way, car or train, doesn't matter, so that's 2 hours per day I miss out on in travel time, 10 hours/week, and 100 hours over a 10 week term. No wonder the housework gets neglected.
See your little pic there...gee, haven't you been doing well with your weight loss!!! I am so, so pleased for you!!!!! Mine has slowed down alot, but I recently lost another couple of kilos, and now have only 2 to go before I am the weight I was when I fell pregnant with my daughter, who turns 21 at the end of this month. The only thing is, I notice that when I have a biggish drop, my sugar levels go up, and this morning I was 7.6, where I have been in the 5s and the 6s on a bad day. Endo reduced my Diabetic meds to only 1/day, where I was on 3/day prior.
Anyway, better finish or it will be telling me I have too many words to send.
    Talk soon!

We went to a place called Forster for a week for our honeymoon. It is a coastal town on the mid north coast of NSW. Robert's family used to go there for holidays for years. The last time he and I went was three years ago, and it came across the TV screen that there was a tsunami alert between Seal Rock and Norfolk Island....Forster is in between the two places....I hadn't felt the same about the place since!
Went back to work afterwards, a very different place to the one I had left a month before. My old boss got a promotion to another school, and the Assistant Principal was in the chair. Whist I do like her, it's just not the same, and of course she has nowhere near the knowledge and experience that he had. I do, though, realise, that whilst I picked up alot along the way in terms of my own knowledge, there were still quite a few things that I just let him take care of, and of course did not really have the need to learn, and I am now finding that this was not so good, so the Asst Principal, who has since been given the Principal's position permanently and I will have to go on a huge learning curve together so that we can both have this information.

    Hiya!
Been thinking about you, and have been intending to send some pics of the wedding. The day was absolutely perfect, weather, the whole day went off without a hitch.
Got caught up in all the last minute stuff towards the end. Ended up wearing that silver dress I showed you pics of, but the shoes that I had made were a disappointment, as my feet still killed...but think now that it probably had more to do with the feet, as I went to the podiatrist last week, and they have been alot better...pity I couldn't have squeezed in a visit before the wedding, but, then, did not find out about this particular podiatrist (who only lives around the corner) until after the wedding.

Thanks for you advice. My mom is a nurse and thinks its low blood sugar too. Guess I need to check into that. Besides that for 9 days out I feel like I'm doing great.

Hi! I saw that you had your sleeve done in Atlanta. That's where I am thinking of having it done. Did you do it as in-patient? Or out-patient? Right now I'm still in the beginning information stages, but I like the information that I have seen from Atl. What was your experience like? Any info or tips would be awesome! Thank you!
  15. Thank you Rylynn...I am tring to figure out how to move around in this forum

~ doesn't think she'll ever reach her original weight, no matter HOW hard she tries. Hell, let's face it, 8lb 10oz is not very realistic is it?
