I am so sorry I did not see this before I went to surgery. I set up this account, then kind of walked away from it and forgot. I probably walked right by you in the halls and didn"t even know. How has the last 2 months gone for you? I had a very rough start, and was in quite a bit of pain. I had a giant gas bubble stuck in my chest from surgery. It would not dissolve, and was pushing on my new stomach. The plane ride home was the best thing to happen, the pressure helped move things around and gave me some relief. I would love to hear from you and see how you are doing. I will make sure to get back on here and check my inbox now. Hope all is well.

I'm getting gastric sleeve December 06 with Almanza. Just wondering if you have to pay extra for anything if you go by yourself? What is the experience like?

Hi I am also scheduled with Almanza. I was wondering if you are nervous at all? The closer the more nervous I am
  4. I forgot to answer the question of being nervous. No, I’m not nervous at all about the procedure. At this point I am just excited for my future. I work in the healthcare field and have a lot of faith in Dr. Almanza. I’m more worried about the pre-op diet and my ability to stay strong. I need to be in a coma for the next month. LOL!
  5. My story is similar to yours. I’m 49 yrs old. I am 5’ 0” and wear size 14. I have been in more diets than I can remember. I have done the HCG Injection diet 4 times in the past 3 yrs. I lost 15, gained back 30, lost 27, gained back 35, lost 15, gained back 25. The HCG began making me feel crazy and very moody when I went on it in the Spring. I decided it was time to try something which my friends have had great success having done. The diet portion of this is a bit more difficult as I am currently in Bahrain and they have very little in the way of sugar free or diet. It’s all about the rice here. I will make this work for me. I look forward to the day when I’m thin. I’m hoping that within 6 months (my 50th) I will be well on my way to looking great. I told my fiancé that I want to be thin for my 50th, my daughters college graduation, and my wedding day (which is yet to be planned). I look forward to all of the support this group will offer and will give the same in return.

Hi Laura - I guess I will just bring comfy pj's. I had knee replacement surgery in Sept, and the hospital would not even let me wear my own pajamas - only their gowns. Which made sense, since my leg was wrapped so thick and I was in a leg contraption. But for the sleeve, I think I will be more comfortable in my own clothes. Are you nervous? I joined this forum to make sure I am truly ready to do this. What's your story?? I am 54, and a yoyo dieter. I have always been good at losing 30 lbs, regardless of diet or exercise program - I was successful when I put my head into it. But then life would happen, I would lose focus, get stressed over something and start eating poorly again and the weight would pile on. I am in a 3 year weight gain right now and at my heaviest at 216lbs/size 16. Praying the sleeve works, that I can develop life long healthy habits and keep the weight off. The extra weight has put stress on my joints and even just walking with my friends has become challenging. My goal - size 10 or smaller would make me a very happy person, and getting back into an exercise routine!
