I'm pretty good. Just trying to figure out what I'm going to have to do to get this surgery done. My insurance says they do not cover bariatric procedures at all. So I guess I'll be footing the whole bill myself.
  6. I'm doing great!! How are you doing?

    Hi Linda. How are you?

Good for you! There's basically nothing in pop that is good for us, yet we still crave it. Crazy. Xoxoxo

I'm surprised to hear that you can drink pop...it's one thing I've never been able to get back. The carbonation hurts, even beer is intolerable to me. My surgeon said to avoid all things carbonated because it causes inflammation of the stomach and can cause stretching...so I am glad I can't take it. I did have a craving for a Diet Coke the other day though, oddly enough since I haven't had a pop in over a year and a half! How lucky are we to have this fabulous tool at our disposal every single time we lift a fork to our mouths. I know I couldn't have done this without my sleeve. So happy to chat with you!

Linda, this makes me so happy to hear that you still have the same restriction. They keep telling us that by design, the sleeve won't stretch out like the bypass stomach (due to the fact that during our sleeve surgery they remove the fundus, the stretchy part of the stomach). During bypass, they actually make the pouch out of the stretchiest part of the stomach, which is why we see so many bypass patients gain their weight back. I have the same restriction I've had for quite some time too, and it was nice to hear that you who are farther out still have that restriction. I feel like my sleeve can't stretch out, even though I've overeaten a few times. I always have that restriction. Love my sleeve! Thank you for your reply!

Hi! I see that you are more than 2 years out from having your sleeve, and I was wondering how you are doing by now? Do you still have restriction in your sleeve? Have you noticed changes within the last year at all in the amount you can eat? I"m so curious about people who are farther out than me! Hoping to hear from you soon!

Hi Linda, I'm really good. Thank you so much for checking in on me. I've lost 18 1/2kgs (40.7lb) and aim to reach 20kg (44lbs) within the next 1 1/2wks - my daughters wedding day. I recently bought a lovely dress for the wedding. I haven't worn a dress for 18 years!!!! So I'm really happy finally having the confidence to wear one now. I've been op shopping and getting some really nice things for next to nothing. It's nice to be able to walk into a shop now and know they do have my size without asking.

A few days after the wedding we're heading to Far North Queensland for a 3 1/2 mths migration for Winter here. The break will be most welcome I can tell you.

Your looking fantastic and I can't wait to get where you are. Take care and I'll write once we're away in our caravan. Sharon x x

Hi so nice to hear from you!! Yes all is going well. I am at 65 lbs lost and my body has decided to stick there for right now. Would like to lose about another 15 lbs. Did you experience hair loss? I had thick hair and now have thin hair. Hope it comes back. How is your daughter doing? How are you doing? Hugs Anne

May 2010 Sleever

by BabyDoll on 09-05-2011 at 07:05 AM
I started my journey May 31st of last year with a top weight of 266, wearing a tight size 22 pants and 2x tops. I remember anxiously wondering where I would end up after the weight was gone...hoped for but doubted I'd ever see the single digits so when I started wearing size 8's I was elated. My weight has leveled out to where I'm now only losing about a pound a month but apparently things are still rearranging cause I just bought a size 6 jeans. It's crazy....I hold them up and think, no way my

Ok so it's been 1 year and 3 months since my Sleeve surgery. I've lost a total of 124 pounds. The weight has slowed to maybe a pound a month which is hard on my brain BUT the body is still changing which is kinda weird. In the last 2 months, I've gone from a loose size 10 pants to a tight size 6 that my daughter says looks sexy. Yeah I know, that's weird.

Anyway. So I haven't measured since June. Here's the new stats.
