  1. Well I made it through the surgery WooHoo! Wasn't expecting that stomach pain. They wanted to keep me an extra day due to my blood sugar went through the roof and they gave me 4 shots of insulin. I have never had insulin shots before finally got it under control. Of course, insurance would only pay for one overnight stay at hospital so, I told them I need to be released and safely made it home. I will say my blood sugar is now in the 90s and well under control. My stomach was very angry though and I have really taken it easy. Glad I took the 2 weeks off from work.
I am surprised that the weight is not falling off very fast I am only down 20 lbs in one month. Slow and steady I am guessing. Doctor said " I am on track and doing good." I must also say when eating my little portions when I am done - that's it DONE! Still getting used to this new journey and looking forward to my future. Thanks to everyone in the group for your support.
  2. Finally got a date, a surgery date that is Oct 16, 2018! Come this far and thinking this is my chance to back out. I know it would be the right thing to do and hopefully, get rid of my stomach pains (probably from being Diabetic) I don't take any medications for my being diabetic but, if I don't do the surgery then the future would include medications. People I have told can't believe I am having the sleeve due to only being a size 14. So, I don't really tell people any longer that I am having this procedure.Confused about the pre-opt 2 weeks but, hopefully my doctor will clear everything up for me. Wondering how long to take off from work. I wanted to take 3 weeks but, big project needs my attention. And I need to fly back to Alaska one more time and help drive back a truck. Anyone have issues with flying, driving for about three days, and how much time to really take off for the sleeve surgery where it's a sit down job with no lifting. Thank you to everyone who has sent me messages I am still trying to figure this site out. Love reading others messages and concerns and the great advice.

Hey there,im going to have mine maybe around march im debetic and take a lot of medication and my reason for having the surgery is to lose weight and be able to get off all this medication so im looking forward to my surgery hav ent schedule myet but going threw the process
  4. Thank you everyone for the warm welcome and the answers provided. I attended my first support group recently and no one there had the sleeve they all had the Gastric Bypass. They claim that bypass is better and I should do that bypass over sleeve. Boohoo now what do I do! My first goal is to rid myself from being diabetic and then weight loss. I know it's my choice and I feel safer with the sleeve. So, question is the sleeve just as good as bypass in getting the diabetic condition under control or even getting rid of it ? I remain diet controlled diabetic and would like to lose about 80 lbs. Thank you so much in advance and your guidance in such a life changing decision.
