No problem, Kerry, I work in a large bariatric surgery department and am also a patient so have a unique perspective! I'm sure you'll do great and really it's important to remain positive and not be ashamed of reaching out for a tool to assist with a problem. You got this! Lots of great information here and in the beginning this site saved me many times

50 is the new 40... Right??

by KerryPG on 09-04-2018 at 02:23 PM
Hello All,
It has been a while since I posted anything. I had my Sleeve surgery on 2/26/18. I was 212 pounds at 5'3". I am thrilled to say with healthier eating and exercise, I weighed myself and am down 64 pounds to 148 :-). I am 13 pounds away from my goal. It has been hard work. Bariatric surgery doesn't give you a lean and toned figure. It is a tool to portion control. The rest is up to you and anyone who says having weight loss surgery is the easy way out has never been through

Hello Everyone,

It has been a little bit since I have posted. I have popped on to read here and there but have been so buried in personal upheaval that I haven't had a coherent thought to add.
My weight is at a bit of a stand still and I understand why so I am giving myself some Grace so as to not sabotage the good work I have done both physically and mentally. I am doing the best that I can and some days it feels like an accomplishment just to get through the day.

Bad news - He prepared me for stalls and plateaus :-( Hide the scale, measure myself and go by how my clothes fit.

Good news - I am allowed to eat soft solid food. I am looking forward to chewing again.
Bad news - My stomach isn't quite ready yet. So I will continue to primarily eat pureed and liquid foods while very slowly introducing solids.

Good news - I am released

25 Days Out - 26 Pounds Down - Counting My Blessings

by KerryPG on 03-23-2018 at 12:07 PM
Happy Friday!!

As I sit here on this cloudy Texas morning, eating my lightly scrambled egg with a sprinkle of cheese I am counting my blessings. I am about halfway finished and I am feeling full. I count that as a blessing. I remember the days not too long ago when I could and would eat an entire medium thin crust pepperoni pizza and not blink an eye. I felt full-ish after it was all gone. I would buy two medium thin crust pepperoni pizzas because I love a two-fer bargain deal
