Just popping by to say good luck for your surgery. It really is life changing :-)
  2. Wanda - just saw this, thanks so much for the response. It's really hard for "civilians" who haven't fought the weight battle to understand exactly how consuming this can be. Best wishes for your surgery also, will be rooting for you!

Hey Mike I'm definitely in that lost and found category too I've actually lost over a hundred pounds and I managed to keep off 80 over 4 years my comfort zone is 240-250 I can maintain in that area but I really want to push past that. I believe this surgery is going to do it for me. A bigger deciding factor for me though was my diabetes is getting harder to control. I'm scheduled for surgery in June with dr. Hernandez in Mexico. I'm doing cash as well with income tax. My insurance has no bariatric coverage ! Best wishes to you and March I hope all goes well.

Five days out, and still alive...

by MikeMo on 03-25-2018 at 08:27 PM
Well, the big event happened on Tuesday and it's Sunday, so we've managed through the worst so far. Surgery went pretty smoothly, I'm in clear liquids still, have been able to set the pain pills aside and just operate with the acid inhibitor meds, plus my regular medications. On the negative side, I am really having trouble tolerating protein drinks. I was told I could start consuming protein drinks today (Sunday) and I had one, which took most of the morning to consume in small dribs and drabs
