  8. It's been almost 3 months since I've had me surgery and i'm feeling better than ever. I'm not having any trouble keeping down solids or liquids. I guess it's because, I went into this know that I had follow the rules exactly as they were given to me and also, I had to keep myself motivated throughout this whole process. After surgery, I didn't have any gas problems at all, nor did I have to take any of the pain medication that was given to me in the hospital. Woot, Woot! Yay, me.

From liquids, to pureed and now solids.. "Wow", it wasn't nearly as hard as so many others have made it out to be. Maybe, because they weren't following the Dr's orders. Lol- I'm ex military so, i'm all about following rules to the letter. My journey has begun and i'm so excited to be living in the body for the second time. NOW let's see if I can get it right this time around!
  9. Well hello guys & gals

So, I had my procedure done on the 23rd of March, and i'm here to let you know that it went off without a hitch! I was in and out before I knew it and i'm doing great. I didn't have any problems getting down the ice chips the next day and the following day, believe it or not I was able to drink about 3 oz's of water, 3 oz's of apple juice and a ice pop without any problem at all. I didn't have an issue with gas at all because, I started walking every day, 2 months before I even had the surgery. Had my fitbit on so, I had to make sure that I was getting in about 15000 steps a day. Lol- Also, I made sure to get up and take a walk while I was in the hospital, every 2 hours. Today, I am able to drink 2-3 16 oz bottled waters, a 12 oz protein shake and a 6 oz bowl of puree soup. Yeah, you can say that i'm doing pretty darn good and my stitches are healing perfectly.

I want to give a sincere thank you, to all of you who have given me words of encouragement.

  12. I want to thank each and everyone of you for your support! This in deed will make it a lot easier for me. Yes, i'm pretty anxious now and ready do get it over with...3 more days and i'm on my way to being a healthier "ME". If I had known that becoming a chef nearly 30 years ago, would aid in keeping me on the heavier side I would have become a lawyer in stead. Lol

Hello Everyone...My name is Chef Mo'nique

Yesterday, I started the 1st day of my pre-op diet. I admit that yesterday was a lot harder than today as far as cravings go. Why is it then when you're NOT hungry that's when the hunger pains kick in? I know that it's mainly mental in my case but "Boy o' Boy" as a Chef, this is one of the hardest task that I've ever been face with.
If you know anything about Chefs, you know that like a baby we love to put everything in our
