Hi there...long time now talk. Just wanted to check up on you to see how you are doing and if everything went well. Hope you had a wonderful holiday. Hope to hear from you soon! Take care
Well Hello there!!! I've been great! I've been maintaining my weight and still forget from time to time how much my stomach can hold. It's a lifelong challenge but so far I've been able to manage. Don't get discouraged about having to go under the knife again. The sleeve is not for everyone. My boss was the one who introduced me to the sleeve. She has had the lap band and did the sleeve after she seen me lose my weight but it has been a year or so since and she hasn't reached her goal weight. She is thinking about doing the bypass as well. I'm sure all will turn out great. Just try to be consistent with the diet given and take care of yourself. I hope you have a safe trip and I can't wait to hear your experience when you get back!!! YOU CAN DO IT!!!
Hey mlola...hows it goin'? Just wanted to check up on you. Hope all is well! Take care
Oh man...you were right! I was not supposed to be on purees until next week. I went back to cream soups because they go down a lot easier. I did puree my chicken w/broth. It was good until it gets stuck. Never doing that again. Refried beans w/cheese sound so good! Hows your weight loss? Is it what you expected?
Hey mlola! How are you doing? So Im on pureed/blended foods right now and Im having a hard time with pureed chicken breast. I feel like it gets stuck half way down. Have you ran into the same problem?
Hey mlola! I know....what a bummer we didn't get to see each other. I was hospital Mi Doctor. I am also on full liquids and cream of tomato soup taste soooo good to me. I love cooking for everyone and watching other people eat more than ever! Right now I'm 10 days post op and am averaging a loss of a pound a day. That works for me! I'm 186 right now and can't wait to eat real food. I'm trying to walk more but I find that I don't have much time. I guess I need to make time huh? I hope all is well with you. This sleeve makes it a lot easier eat less! Well enough with my rambling. Go mlola go! Lose those pounds girl! I'm always here to support!
Thanks! I just ready your message. Let me know if you have any questions. It was a GREAT experience!
I'm now Dec. 14. I have had to cancel twice, once due to MD issues and once due to family issues. Hope the third time really is the charm! Christmas parties will be during two week prep and then protein drinks for the month after surgery. Guess this is one holiday where I won't have a weight gain.
My contact's name is Nina: nina@mexicalibariatriccenter.com Her sister, Gaby, is also a contact, but I would recommend sticking with Nina. Her mother, Yolanda, is the one who handles the hospital part, finances, special needs, etc. She is the sister of the wife of Dr. Acheves. It is a very close knit group, so communication between the parts all the way to the surgeon is great. I stayed there an extra seven days, one before, five after in Mexicali, and one more in San Diego so I could catch an early flight out. There is a contact person there who doesn't work for Dr. Acheves but will help you in any way she can. (2 time WLS survivor) She knew a local family there who took care of me after my three days in the hospital, and arranged for a dentist to do some extensive work (2 crowns). She doesn't charge anything for helping. Saved a ton of money and felt very secure. Let me know if I can be of further assistance. I recommend both the hospital and the doctors. I am older, so I felt some extra concern. I had no problems.
thanks Mlola. Surgery went well but i can tell u the pain hit me HARD when i woke up. I thought i was dreaming and started regretting my decision because of the pain. Day 1 for me was bad. Comparatively, day 2, yesterday, was sooooo much better. they moved me from strong iv narcotics to hudrochodon in liquid format. i walked a lot and kept feeling better. Today i feel even better and can bear to sleep on my side. As bad a day 1 was, i am glad i had it because it made me realize that tis is SERIOUS surgery - went through something very serious and i cannot afford to fail or to do anything that would put me back under the knife. I will always remember day 1. Now. I have no appetite but hve to try and get my liquids in. How are u?
Yes, It's such a relief when it's over and donewith!!!!! Im kinda in the depressed I wanna eat mode but Im sure I'll get over it. Haha. Happy hour down at the bar right now looks pretty darn fun.
Ok, I just wrote myself by accident. Oops! Hi! Yep! Tues it was... Everything was awesome. I LOOOVEE DR KELLY and his staff!
