  1. And the two-week dreaded stall has arrived!! Haha... I didn't lose anything last week, but I somewhat expected that since I lost so much in the last month and a half. I do have to say I love how much better my clothes are fitting, so as long as that continues and I continue having to discard clothes that are too big, I'm golden! Looking forward to getting a few more calories once I can add puree's on Thursday. I think this may help, as I know my body doesn't like the 500 calorie mark, but 7-800 should be perfect!
  2. Thanks for visiting everyone! I am two weeks post op tomorrow and am looking forward to adding some cream soups! I'm down 16 pounds since the day before surgery, but know it is now going to slow down! Looking forward to be able to add some calories and hopefully get up to the 700-800 mark!

I think they'll regret not getting the sleeve once they see your success. Happy for you , though!!

  6. Thank you all. Surgery went great and I'm happy to be home! The only struggle I'm really facing is the crushed antibiotic. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Tara, sending you the best of wishes safe travels, and for an uneventful surgery and speedy recovery!

I lost weight on my own countless times, only to regain it back and then some by a year or two out. Sleeve Gastrectomy isn't a magic wand that will make all your food related dysfunctions go away, only you have the power to change and to adopt healthier habits, like eating more wholesome foods and staying active, and the Sleeve can be a great support tool. It has been the best decision I have made related to my health and wellbeing.

Two Week Post-Op Update

by taranicholle42 on 08-03-2017 at 08:10 PM
Things are going great. I'm down 17 pounds! It still takes me a long time to get food in, but it's happening. My typical day is water, then a shake, more water, cream of chicken soup, water, hot chocolate, more water and a popsicle, a shake for dinner and more water until I go to sleep. I didn't list times because that has not been consistent with my work schedule, but I am getting it all in throughout the day.

The only thing I am struggling with is acid reflux. I've tried the milk

Day 4 post op - home, well and back to work

by taranicholle42 on 07-24-2017 at 05:45 PM
Well my original plan was going to be to give you a detailed account of my experience. Let's just say everything went very well and most of what we expected is what happened.

Day 1 (Wednesday, July 19th) Since we had secured our own ride from the airport, we arrived at the hotel just before midnight. Got checked in and were told to be in the lobby ready-to-go at 8:30.

Day 2 (Thursday, July 20th) Left the lobby and arrived at the hospital where we were met to fill

One Day and Counting...

by taranicholle42 on 07-19-2017 at 11:07 AM
Well today we fly to San Diego and tomorrow is the big day! I won't lie...I'm so nervous and have been second guessing my decision, even though I have been so excited. Since mid-May, I've lost 30 pounds and got below the 50% BMI. I know I can do this without the surgery, but the last week or so I have not really lost any more weight, which is frustrating and I get concerned it is due to the low calories, which will not really change after the sleeve; however, I have to remember my reasoning for

Taking Back Control of My Life!!

by taranicholle42 on 06-28-2017 at 01:33 PM
I found my groove back in 2012 and in 16 months lost 182 pounds. I did this with nutrition and exercise. But things happened, my ex went off the deep end and I wound up being a single mother to two awesome kids. We have not seen or heard from him in a little over 4-years, which is good since there is a restraining order. haha...(yes, I can amuse myself by this now).

He hated the fact I had taken control of my life and I allowed his behavior to take it away again! Well not anymore!
